does anyone else think that in the last year joanna newsom has changed how she looks completely. not just hair color or some lost weight, she literally looks like a different person. its really strange.

My girlfriend and I tried to get Jon Stewart tix at exactly 12 noon on ticketmaster. It didn't work for a few minutes (kept saying tix weren't on sale yet) and by 12:03 it was already sold out. WTF? Did anyone else have any luck? I was able to get New Pornos tickets though....

"Most tix sold out before this post ever went up."

yeah, thats what I get for trying to write an epic post describing the festivities, without considering that it better be finished before noon today.

If you're a real fan of literature (and 35 and under), the 92nd St Y is putting on a reading series that puts the New Yorker Festival lineup to shame. See the list of authors here:

Oh yeah, and tickets are $10 instead of $25-$50.

PS I got Borat tickets!

The New Pornographers event starts at 10 PM and is billed as "a conversation with music"? Something tells me that we won't get anywhere near $35 worth of music. Hell, it may turn out to be just A.C. Newman playing an acoustic guitar.
