I am nearby. If anyone has the email and can't reach the store, I'll run to it for you - we'll split the tickets?

Here's a thought: Use a word processing program to fabricate a printout of an actual e-mail. Copy the header that's in this blog entry but put your own name (since it says you have to present a "matching photo ID") and e-mail address in the "To:" field. Then put the body of the e-mail and the image from the link below that. (I'm assuming that the image was in the e-mail itself and not linked-to as BV has done above, right, BV?)

I printed out the flyer linked above and brought it to the store and they took it. It looked like they weren't sure if they should and two separate people had to look at it, but they still took it.

And when I say they "took it", I mean they accepted it and gave me two tickets. They didn't confiscate it.

i just grabbed a pair too. easy peasy. i think i was around 47th on the list, so assuming that each person grabbed their 2 per allotment, that means as of 1pm, less than 100 tix given out? i saw quite a few pages of blank lines on the list after my name.
they make you show ID to prove your age and identity, and you have to write down your name, signature and they make you sign the back of the tix too to deter scalpers, i guess.
Posted by Qbertplaya | September 21, 2006 1:48 PM
they didn't make me sign the back of the tickets
Posted by brandon | September 21, 2006 2:13 PM

yo, picked my tickets up too. just printed the above image and brought it over. they barely looked at and then torn it up. They wrote my name on the tickets and said they would check names at the door. Thank you brooklyn vegan, you rule!

you know when bv is all like, "tell me what you'd like to see more of on this site"? more like this! i got my pair (#69 around 2ish) without even needing to show my "email" first. he just sort of took it and threw it on a pile after i signed the sheet and he handed me the tickets. they were all very genial in there and told me to "enjoy the concert!" on my way out. yay, nokia!
