The Raconteurs playing the Prada store tonight?

"Jack White + absurdly expensive purses = what? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? The correct answer is: The Raconteurs are playing a (now-not-at-all) secret show tonight at schmancy Italian fashion-house Prada’s gorgeous Soho store as part of Fashion Week. We’re so effing going, and we promise to fill you in on all the sexy-hot deets. But any free purses thrown our way are ours to keep. Sorry, dudes." [Rolling Stone]

I commend your photo selection. Who wants to go and throw blood on Jack White?

Yes, they were playing. Mercer Street was like being backstage all day, only with more plants. The sound check was LOUD throughout the street.

Just curious, was it such a successful event? I just live a few blocks away and indeed sounds were loud.

Did you know Sonic Youth and other super hip rockers talked about on blogs like this go to fashion week all the time? Yes it's true.

Looks like a regular concert to me except for famous people. Kind of like the VMA's.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Only 4 of us hung around outside and the bouncer let us chill and listen in. It was like getting a free gig and stnading in the back of a crowded field. Music came in loud and clear. The band was tighter than ever.
And yeah there were plenty of celebs to go around but kudos to that Seth Green guy for being a man of the people and chatting with the food truck guys.

New York Magazine was there, too. Jada Yuan's report:

She allegedly discussed Carlos D's facial hair with him.
