Hammerstein. Ew.

Posted by klaus_kinski | October 11, 2006 2:42 PM

the decemberists already had a show that week, adding them to the TBA "lineup" doesn't really mean much to anyone Klaus

Diamond Nights and Priestess at Bowery! Saturday Night Fantastic!

Posted by meateater | October 11, 2006 2:48 PM

How the hell do YOU know who it means something or nothing to? You people amaze me sometimes with your downer attitudes (not all of you, just the downers)...

Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2006 2:48 PM

Decemberists @ Hammerstein went on sale in Aug. and is sold out now. They just recently announced the show as being part of CMJ.

Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2006 2:48 PM

ugh all 18+

Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2006 2:48 PM

decemberists are playing nov 3rd at hammerstein

Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2006 2:51 PM

the mercury lounge might have tickets left. they had some earlier.

Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2006 2:53 PM

Doesn't the "box office" at the Mercury Lounge now print tickets on demand (vs. taking them out of a pre-printed supply like they used to)? I think they're connected to TicketWeb's system, so there must not be any tickets available ath the Mercury Lounge for the Nov. 2 show.

Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2006 2:59 PM

Speaking of mercury lounge, get a load of their CMJ shows.

I think these line-ups rival Bowery's.

Don't get too worked up on the Shins show, they're not that good live

Posted by at_work | October 11, 2006 3:32 PM

i never heard the shins live and love the album. Plus with CSS, this show is totally worth 16 dollars. More than that even!!!!

Posted by erik | October 11, 2006 3:37 PM

the thermals are the highlight of this show; and they're playing the next night at studio b.
still, i bought tickets for this show. CSS is amazing live. the shins i have low expectations for; like the albums but i don't expect to be blown away by their live show.
and ferraby lionheart is playing with the thermals the night after this.

Because no one loves anything more than comedy in the middle of a rock show, I'll be doing some comedy and showing a video I shot with Elvis Perkins between the last four bands at that November 1st show. It'll make the transitions that much more fun, trust me.

Whew, that sold out fast! It's a good thing I check Brooklynvegan way more often than I should - I didn't think there was any way I'd be getting a ticket to that.

Posted by k | October 11, 2006 4:08 PM

16 bucks to see CSS is fine by me - everything else is just gravy.

Posted by gwong | October 11, 2006 4:36 PM

AWESOME cant wait to show up for CSS and Thermals and skip all the other crap!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2006 4:45 PM

AWESOME too bad Pissed Jeans isnt on the sup pop showcase. that would be the bill of the year. cant wait to show up for CSS and Thermals and skip all the other crap!!!!!

How could Mew sell out before tapes n 'tapes? I know there has been a lot of backlash, but that seems a bit extreme.

personally, you couldnt pay me to see tapes.

damn, i thought i could wait to get a mew ticket.

Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2006 4:58 PM

i'm going on friday not just to see mew; i am excited about seeing the grates and magnet again.

i've already seen tnt at bowery, so no need to rush out and see them again. and the other bands in wednesday's lineup are kinda meh.

the subpop one will be amazing, even tho shins do suck live. can't wait for the thermals most of all!

Posted by Qbertplaya | October 11, 2006 4:59 PM

sooo happy i'm going to see CSS again. thank you, BV!

Posted by kap | October 11, 2006 6:02 PM

Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2006 8:03 PM

every year: same festival, different bands, and the SAME questions.

i'd say sets run about 45-60 minutes. maybe a little longer for headliners.

about half the venue's worth of tickets are sold and the other half is filled with CMJ badge holders, on a first come first serve basis.

Posted by ohseptember | October 11, 2006 11:00 PM

any one else hear that The Rapture is playing Bowery on Halloween??

Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2006 11:39 PM

Set times from Sub Pop's website:

The Shins (1:00 - 1:40 am)

The Thermals (12:00 - 12:40 am)

CSS (11:00 - 11:40 pm)

The Album Leaf (10:00 - 10:40 pm)

Oxford Collapse (9:00 - 9:40 pm)

The Elected (8:00 - 8:40 pm)

Loney, Dear (7:00 - 7:40 pm)

Posted by gwong | October 12, 2006 12:41 AM

Thanks Gwong. I assume similar set times for the Wednesday lineup. That will be good to plan around.

"i'm going on friday not just to see mew; i am excited about seeing the grates and magnet again."

fields would be the highlight for me on the friday show. i am seeing their kexp session on thursday afternoon. if you like porcupine tree you alrealy like fields...

Posted by Anonymous | October 12, 2006 11:34 AM

all good. What Made Milwaukee Famous is one of the greatest live shows i have ever seen. must see. yeah and check this out http://www.knifedandspooned.blogspot.com/
nifty little site.

Does anyone know when the CMJ shows at Mercury Lounge go onsale?

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2006 1:39 PM

Usually they don't have advanced ticket sales for the CMJ shows at Mercury - they are only sold at the door the night of the show.
