"ALUMINIUM, is an album of avant garde orchestral recordings of music written by Jack White of The White Stripes."
Press release continued below...
"It was recorded between August 2005 and February 2006 at Intimate Studios in Wapping (London), using a specially assembled orchestra comprising many of the UK’s finest young classical musicians.
The album will be available exclusively through the Aluminium website as a numbered limited edition of 3,333 CDs, 999 LPs and an unlimited download format with electronic booklet. There will also be an exclusive Aluminium toy available on the site. The album and toy will be available to pre-order from November 6th 2006.
Long time White Stripes collaborator, Rob Jones, created a series of 10 images to accompany the album. These images will be printed up as cards and packaged with both the CD and LP formats. In addition to this, the LP format will include a section of an original Rob Jones silk screen print.
The images are available to view on the Aluminium MySpace site, and as part of a wider Rob Jones exhibition which is currently showing at the Richard Goodall Gallery in Manchester.
On hearing Aluminium, choreographer Wayne McGregor included tracks from the album in a new piece that he is putting together for the Royal Ballet. The piece will be performed at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden this November."

This is the only decent project Jack White has ever been part of. As a matter of fact, its pretty damn good.
