Andy Taylor Splits With Duran Duran
"Duran Duran's comeback will continue without the services of Andy Taylor. The band's founding guitarist has split with the band again, this time ahead of a string of U.S. dates, beginning tonight (Oct. 26) in Chicago, due to a 'gulf' developing in their partnership." [Billboard]

Isn't bashing Duran Duran in this blog a little too easy? Is it even necessary? Way too predictable, sourdoughs...

Yes, it's very necessary. : P

This just means that there will be a lucrative reunion tour in a couple of years.

how could you guys insult the man who played guitar on addicted to love? Or am I the only person here who likes robert palmer?
Posted by ian | October 26, 2006 11:55 PM
I did not know that.

Liar! The band that recorded "Addicted to Love" and the other Robert Palmer tracks of that era was all-female! I saw them in the videos!

"This just means that there will be a lucrative reunion tour in a couple of years."
This tour was already a reunion tour.
Duran Duran's first album is still one of the best albums of the '80s.

Yea, but many bands "reunite" multiple times throughtout their careers. Look at Black Sabbath and Ozzy -- I think they're reuniting AGAIN.
I'm in complete agreement about the first Duran album... New Romanticism at its finest, and darker than you'd think.
Posted by Anonymous | October 27, 2006 12:04 PM
Black Sabbath is reuniting without Ozzie.

Madison, the Sirius Alt Nation / First Wave DJ, said this morning that Andy Taylor split because the rest of the band decided they want to work with Timbaland for their next album. Souds like this a case when the departure of a band member really is due to creative differences, for once.

Duran Duran was awesome... not anymore, but whatever, they rule(d).
