Beck @ Angel Orensanz, NYC | pics
DOWNLOAD: Beck - Cell Phone's Dead (MP3)
The last-minute "solo acoustic" Beck show at Angel Orensanz (an old beautiful synagogue) in NYC Sunday night (Oct 22, 2006) wasn't very solo at all (his whole band was there), but I guess you could call it acoustic. There were no puppets, but there was a Casio. It was really great.

This was Beck's third NYC-area show this week. He also played one at the Theater @ Madison Square Garden and one at Loews in Jersey City. His fifth semi-public show will be at the mtvU awards on Wednesday.
Death Vessel opened.

It was indeed a great show. It was easily one of the best Beck shows I have seen. However I think he only played one show at MSG.

Nice pics! I caught him Saturday night in Jersey City. Snuck a few pics/vids in despite some guy being a camera Nazi upfront.

Saturday night show was awesome. The puppet show is so cool! Spank Rock was great as opener, and the theater is stunning. Props to the sound guy, acoustics were excellent and well-used at the board. BECK RULES!!

Uh-oh, maybe BV let the cat out of the bag about a secret show that was only for Scientologists? If that's the case: It's been nice knowin' you, BV.

The show at MSG was fantastic- the puppets were very fun and I have a solid crush on Ryan, the ancillary percussion man, and his fantastic dance moves...

I loved the MSG show, but was waiting all night for Cellphone's Dead, and it never came..

I was at the show in New Jersey. Amazing show and what an awesome theater. And not difficult to get to at all from Manhattan.
For the MSG show, did they do a video of the puppets running around New York? They had one for the Saturday show with them running around NJ.

Anyone know if any audio recording was done legally or illegally? I would love to get a copy.

They did do the puppet video at MSG. The song they used was Ricard Hell's Blank Generation instead of Bon Jovi's Living on Prayer which they used in Jersey City. The MSG video was a little longer becasue they also showed the puppets trashing the dressing room.
