Friends?
Posted by D | October 19, 2006 10:08 AM
Does anyone know how much the tix cost?
Posted by Al bo Bal | October 19, 2006 10:10 AM
Beck has friends? Doesn't that kind defeat the purpose of the "solo" part in the "solo" acoustic show?
Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 10:10 AM
it's going to be his myspace friends.
Posted by friends of b | October 19, 2006 10:14 AM
beck has puppets as friends
Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 10:15 AM
$55.00 plus fees
Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 10:15 AM
$55??? you gotta be kidding me.
Posted by matt | October 19, 2006 10:20 AM
its a pretty small place...so it will probably sold out by the time you type your third question mark..

have you heard the new album? whats the deal with middle age white dudes trying to rap? it sucks....
Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 10:37 AM
best beck album since mutations.
Posted by j | October 19, 2006 10:44 AM
Last night show was fun. The crowd was really into it. The songs from the new album sounded great live as well. But this show will be special. The acoustic tour a few years a go was amazing.
Posted by danfun | October 19, 2006 10:44 AM
fyi, according to the myspace bulletin:
"There is a 2 ticket limit per person per order. All tickets must be picked up at will call the night of the show, and you must enter the venue immediately after retrieving your tickets.
You MUST bring a government issued photo ID and the credit card used to purchase the tickets to the door the night of the show. Tickets are non-transferable."

agreed on the sea change tour...i had 5th row seats...in front of dave grohl...
excellent show. not to mention flaming lips opening.
Posted by sam | October 19, 2006 11:00 AM
The Sea Changes tour was great but I was refering to the acoustic tour where it was just Beck and Smokey those shows were awesome.
Posted by danfun | October 19, 2006 11:03 AM
is Beck middle aged ? & he's been rapping (or his version of it since his first record) did you just google Beck today ?
Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 11:09 AM
$55? Where did you get this info? The regular tour isn't even $55...
Posted by Al bo Bal | October 19, 2006 11:14 AM
wait, Beck is middle age? And he just strted rapping? I hear his new song "Loser" will be a huge hit. I'm glad I've been on board since last week on this Beck guy.
Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 11:14 AM
$55 bones on TicketWeb right now ya dunce
Posted by Joe | October 19, 2006 11:23 AM
yup - $55.
Posted by richard | October 19, 2006 11:44 AM
price x quantity = revenue.
fewer tickets represents smaller "quantity" therefore making the "price" portion go higher, to hold revenue constant or near to it.
Another fabulous economic lesson on why a smaller venue might represnt a higher ticket price.
I'll be the 8th person to point out that they will be 55$.

"Another fabulous economic lesson on why a smaller venue might represnt a higher ticket price."
Shows at Cake Shop, Delancey, Mercury Lounge and Pianos are $8.00.
Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 11:52 AM
but do big acts like Beck play at those places? no.
Posted by FrixFrixFrix | October 19, 2006 11:54 AM
Weren't the tickets for the Theater at Madison Square Garden show about the same price ($55)?
The show is New Jersey is $35.
Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 11:54 AM
total revenue would be for an established act, on the road. Ceteris Paribus. Looky it up. Learn. You'll feel better.
Guess what happens when a bigger band plays the Mercury? The price goes up.
I hope the lobotomy works out for you.
Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 11:57 AM
is it just me, or did that literally just sell out in 10 seconds?
fuck Ticketweb.

I have been in the "Waiting Room" for 10 minutes.
Posted by danfun | October 19, 2006 12:16 PM
Yeah, I doubt it's sold out. I got a pair and my friend got one after just waiting for a while. Ticketweb is worthless and the artists need to realize this.
Posted by Jonas | October 19, 2006 12:19 PM
worst. website. ever.
Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 12:21 PM
I've been in the "waiting room" at least 5 times. Then it says no tickets available. Tease.

Artist don't choose the ticket provider the concert promoters and venues do. Take it up with Bowery presents.

12:39 - got tickets. Keep trying there not sold out.
Posted by lib | October 19, 2006 12:42 PM
i think posts saying they got tickets after the show is sold out are planted by ticketweb.
Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 12:45 PM
Yeah TicketWeb definitely wants to trick you into going to their site and flooding it with requests but ultimately giving you nothing.
What are you a moron? Why the hell would TicketWeb want you to go to their site for Beck tickets if it was sold out. They don't get any money for no ticket sales ya dunce.
Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 12:47 PM

i'm pretty sure it's sold out - i've refreshed 100 times
Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 12:49 PM
who KNOWS it's sold out? They may be holding tix back, and releasing in waves to reduce traffic.
Posted by hamish | October 19, 2006 12:50 PM

Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 12:52 PM
what's the capacity for this venue??

my friend just got thru at 1:01. keep trying.
Posted by Qbertplaya | October 19, 2006 1:05 PM

or clicking "checkout" gives me nothing
sooo frustrating

ahh fuck this - i'm seeing him at the Woodies anyway
Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 1:12 PM
"i'm seeing him at the Woodies anyway"
probably only 3 songs, and at Roseland.
Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 1:14 PM
This *IS* really frustrating.... seriously.. I am at work refreshing the same page over and over and nothing...
If anyone is kind enough... can't you sell me ONE ticket? please?
drtchocky@gmail.com
Jason
P.S. This is what I get... I gave away my extra TVOTR and Grizzbly Bear ticket last night for free... some lucky guy got it. But now I can;t even get one ticket... bah
Posted by jason | October 19, 2006 1:25 PM
"""i'm seeing him at the Woodies anyway"

what a dick thing to post - i oughta punch you in the face.
and the Woodies tickets were free, unlike these where you have to spend $55 and waste 2 hours trying to get ticketweb to work (spending 2 hours of my time equals another $100 or so dollars lost)
Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 2:00 PM

"The Sigur Ros show there was mind blowing. One of the best concerts I have ever seen."
Wow when was that show?
Posted by Bao | October 19, 2006 3:27 PM
They were supposed to play there but they changed it last minute to Irving Plaza. now I bet Bjork must of been fantastic to have seen there.
Posted by Sigur Ros? | October 19, 2006 3:31 PM
Has anyone made the "don't you know you're only funding scientology by buying Beck tickets" post yet?
Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 4:23 PM
The second SR show was supposed to be there. The first one a serveral months prior did happen.
Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2006 4:29 PM
thank you for the correction. I can only imagine how intimate that one was.
Posted by Sigur Ros? | October 19, 2006 4:49 PM
Jesus, that Beck ticket sale was shitball. I spent so much time in the goddamned 'waiting room.' Oh well, at least I got to catch up on my Good Housekeeping and Highlights back issues
Posted by klaus_kinski | October 19, 2006 4:55 PM
Funny--no one seems to have made the "Scientology is no worse than any other religion" post yet, either.

boy, there are some liars out there.
sigur ros has NEVER played a show at the angel orensanz theatre. in may of 2001 they were supposed to play there, but that show sold out so quickly that they moved the show to irving plaza. whoever wants to debate this can show me their ticketstub for me to believe it.
and explain why its missing from this list:

are you referring to angel orensanz for bjorK? i don't recall her playing there. i saw her twice at the riverside church (as well as spiritualized there once in the bigger chapel)
and i belive 'oh sept' is correct. irving plaza was sigur ros' first NYC show. it was definitely bumped up from angel orensanz.

I saw Belle & Sebastian there on their first trip to the US...its a very cool place...but I hear its CRAZY expensive to rent or put on a show there......(hence the $55 tickets) too bad because there needs to be more places like this in the city to break up the monotony...
Posted by rt | October 19, 2006 10:55 PM
Jenny Lewis played there a couple of months ago and the fee was half the price of Beck.
Posted by Anonymous | October 20, 2006 12:21 AM
Jenny Lewis is half as popular as Beck
Posted by rt | October 20, 2006 3:49 PM
actually according to my accounting dept i am only worth 38% of a beck show......
but i like to think i'm more like 50%! thanks for the complement!
