Chavez

Both of the above MP3s come from the recently-released "super-deluxe re-mastered" Chavez compilation that includes, among other things, "two CDs plus DVD, two 28-page books, and the two original studio albums". Pitchfork recently gave it a 9.4. To promote said compilation, Chavez are getting back together to play some shows. These to be exact:

CHAVEZ | 2006 TOUR DATES
Sat Dec 2 - Otto Bar Baltimore, MD w/ Endless Boogie (tix)
Sat Dec 16 - Warsaw Brooklyn, NY w/ Endless Boogie (tix)
Sat Dec 30 - Slim's San Francisco, CA

If you're not familiar with this indie rock band who were "active in the New York club scene in the mid to late '90s", you probably at least heard of their frontman Matt Sweeney from such projects as Billy Corgan's Zwan and Bonnie Prince Billy's Superwolf.

Damn, I hate weekend shows. Shows during the week are so much less packed.

who gives a shit what rating pitchfork gave it? it's freaking chavez. if you need a 9.4 to tell you that you need to be there, you probably shouldn't go.
