CYHSY playing Hammerstein Ballroom on New Years Eve -- played Summerstage
CYHSY @ CENTRAL PARK SUMMERSTAGE | SEPT 28, 2006 (CRED)

As previously reported, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Architecture in Helsinki, and Takka Takka are selling a limited tour-only CD on their current tour. I wasn't at the Thursday Summerstage show to get one, but Blake at The Concert Room was, and did, and posted the whole thing as MP3s.
On New Years Eve (12/31/06) CYHSY are playing Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC. All current tour and October 3rd PRESALE info can/will be found on their tour page.

no, at this point you should be listening to the hot new album called Paris.

I just saw CYHSY last night in Philly at the Troc. The sound during there set was one of the worst i had ever heard. It sounded like the guitars were coming out of 10-watt amps.

Good point, I forgot it's only cool to like a band for their first album. Thanks for perpetuating the stereotype of the pretentious music snob associated with indie music.

well if its any consolation they still only have one album

I really like them, and of course the expected backlash--which began about two days after that Pitchfork review--is annoying as always (see above), but I have to admit that they were lousy at Summerstage. The sound was somewhat off, but the main issue was there just wasn't any energy to it. Not sure why, as I've seen them be great live, but they just didn't translate to such a large audience. Can't see them pulling off the dreadful Hammerstein either. Why the hell would they play there, anyway? They couldn't sell out Summerstage, they ain't going to sell this out. You only have one album fellows, so please stick to the clubs for a few more years, eh?

Speaking of tour only EPs- Wasn't AIH supposed to have a tour-only remix EP available at this show? I thought I remember reading that here (or some other web site). Well I went to the show and the magenta-haired merch girl looked at me like I was crazy when I asked about it. Still AIH put on a very good show with the new line-up and keyboard problems.
As for CYHSY- I didn't stay for all of their set. The last time I saw them was in Washington DC at the Black Cat and they actually apologized from the stage for "not being a very good live band." No matter it is still a very good first record.

they sounded tired. Perhaps they need a rest. Ounsworth is sounding more and more like Dylan - the 60+ year old version. I think the way he sings is going to ruin his voice

not making any excuses for CYHSuhhhh but isn't like a rule of thumb that summerstage shows always suck

True, unless you're a blind duo from Mali.

"It sounded like the guitars were coming out of 10-watt amps."
Hey, you don't have to belittle guitar amps just because CYHSY suck. They have feelings too.
BTW, you probably mean 10-watt SOLID-STATE amps. Low wattage tube amps kick ass. Nothing like a cranked 5-watt tube amp.
