Les Savy Fav MoMA on sale

Les Savy Fav

Tickets are on sale for Les Savy Fav @ MoMA. Thx Ondal for making a picture that shows how they rubbed Les Savy Fav's name out to keep it a secret. Don't bring your cell phone. Someone tell Jason Trachtenburg. (thx Ondal)

I am well aware of Jason's hatred for technology... it was the rest that confused me.

the picture is a mashup of Les Savy Fav and Modern Art

Les Savy Fav are the secret musical act playing the Museum of Modern Art

You can see in the picture that they rubbed out Les Savy Fav's name

The event is anti-cell phone, like Jason Trachtenburg

yeah, you are not alone. way to much info to get, to get some tickets. let me know how the show was, cause i ain't giving up all that info.

Ironic. In order to purchase tickets to THIS event they ask for your cell phone number? Anyone know if MoMA members get in?

Posted by SD | October 25, 2006 3:15 PM

i wouldn't characterize the event as anti-cellphone, but yeah, they're questioning it. i think you are encouraged to bring your cell phone - it is integral to the event, but you will have to check it at the door.

as for info, it's not more than what you give out to ticketweb or any other online vendor, really. also, they send information to you via SMS so they need your cell number for that.

as far as i know, it's a private event and your MoMA membership would not get you in - but don't quote me on that. i'm a LVHRD member and i bought my tickets that way.

definitely bring your cell phones

Fine, don't come, more tickets for me! Just got mine, let's hope for a full set.

I heard that the band is going to play and the only way to hear it is through your cell phones.

okay douchebags, here's the answer to the puzzle:

this event is being thrown by a group called LVHRD and they hold secret events where you need to give your CELLPHONE # because normally, the venue is kept secret. Then, the day of the event, you get a magical message on your phone thru text msging where it tells you where to go.

But, since it's being done with the MoMA, The MoMA wants to publicize that sh*! so the event really couldn't be kept under wraps..but in order to enter the venue you're going to get a texted secret message, where the only way to enter is if you have your cellphone to prove it. But come on, did BK vegan have to give away the secret act? That's dirty.

And no, you can't go and buy tickets anywhere else because it's a private event.

This is a PRIVATE event people!! You can only get in if you are a LVHRD member,or a PopRally member. If you wanna go and have the ability to buy a ticket, you have to register for the groups (plus it allows you to get a discount ticket).

That is why they are asking for your cellphone number and all that information. This is not a Les Savy Fav concert!

The event on November 7th at the MoMA is a PRIVATE EVENT for members of LVHRD (lvhrd.org) and the PopRally Group at the MoMA, called (CLL) PHN-LCKN (cllphnlckn.com). For one night, LVHRD will take people out of their regular social practice of texting and calling friends during events. Audience involvement will bring the attendees together.

With the proliferation of cell phone use reaching epidemic proportions and the spread of diseases like SMC (Sever Micro-Cellulotamination), LVHRD felt this was the perfect time to hold (CLL) PHN-LCKN.

Pre-existing LVHRD members and people registered for the MoMA PopRally receive a discount on tickets, and those who register for membership online can still purchase for a price less than normal museum fees. The 'Out of Time' exhibit will be open for viewing during the event.

The LVHRD group is a roving creative salon that throws enigmatic events, recently referred to in Flavorpill as a "sophisticated version of the Merry Pranksters". You can learn more about them at www.lvhrd.org and apply for membership through the site.

I don't understand the reference to the Merry Pranksters.

Does that mean they do a lot of drugs? Do they be handing out LSD at their events?

As far as I know LVHRD is not political.
