DOWNLOAD: Dead Boys - Sonic Reducer (MP3)
Television's Richard Lloyd played guitar with Patti Smith and band (Lenny Kaye, Jay Dee Daugherty & Tony Shanahan) on stage for a few songs at CBGB's final show Sunday night, October 15, 2006. Richard's young son was up front in the over-packed audience. Tom Verlaine was home sleeping?

I heard the Dead Boys' Sonic Reducer twice this weekend. - first it was covered by the Dicators on Saturday and then again at this show by Patti Smith & band. Sonic Reducer, was originally a Rocket From the Tombs (RFTT) song. RFFT are a pre-Dead Boys band who never originally officially recorded an album sort-of. Richard Lloyd is a member of the reunited Rocket From the Tombs.

I was there last night and it was really an impressive show. Patti played for roughly three and a half hours and absoultely tore it up in the final half of her set.
I reviewed it here if you want to read more: http://thoughtsonstuff.blogspot.com/2006/10/patti-smith-cbgbs.html

Subject CBGB is closed
Last night we had our last show and rolled our gates down for the last time at 315 Bowery.
Some day soon we hope to open again in a new location. We are still looking.
The CBGB MYSPACE page will now be a tribute to CBGB and we will keep you posted on any new developments in the future.
For details regarding why CBGB closed, please read our blogs, rather than repost misinformed rumors.
We also invite anyone with a CBGB story to tell to please post on our new blog and leave your story of your CBGB experience (good or bad) to share with all those who wish to read it.
Thank you to all the bands and fans who have been there with us over the years... and more importantly thanks to all the staff who have been like a family over the years. For most of them it wasn't just a job, it was a home they helped maintain.
