Tenacious D | 2006 Tour Dates & presale
When I saw Tenacious D at Roseland (1/22/02) it was great, but of course it was still big stupid Roseland. I can only imagine the shows at Irving Plaza (8/30/99), Bowery Ballroom (4/18/00), and Town Hall (9/8/01) were better (especially Bowery!), and I can only imagine that a Tenacious D show in a stadium would be infinitely worse.
The presale for Tenacious D December 1st at MSG starts October 12th @ noon. Password: BADESTINY (thx KK, Andrew & TM)
It might be worth going if they do anything as cool visually as Roger Waters, though I think I'll just stick with the movie.
Neil Hamburger is opening. That's prety sweet for him and those who do go. I forgot to post a review of his recent funny show at Pianos.

That sounds like a ridiculously large venue for them, no?

Correction: The presale starts Thursday, Oct. 12 at 10:00 AM. The regular sale starts at noon on Saturday.
In other MSG prseale news, the presale for the 131st Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show runs from 9:00AM to 9:00PM on Thursday, Oct. 12. Password is BAWOOF. Regular sale starts Friday at 10:00AM.
I imgaine one can get better seats for either event by skipping the presale.

So you reckon better tickets by waiting until Saturday to buy? Online or at the box office?

you're a fucking idiot if you think any D show anywhere would be anything but awesome. Get over yourself and embrace arena shows for the awesome spectacle and memorable experience they are instead of blindly holding onto your "indie credible" small venue shows. not every band can wallow in obscurity forever. I saw White Stripes at Bowery right after White Blood Cells was released. It was the last small show they played here before they blew up. But when I saw them last year at Keyspan Park, it was still amazing. The venue does not determine how good a show is, it's the band's resposibility. So if you think your precious indie bands would suffer under the iron fist of the arena rock realm, maybe you should blame the band for not being able to handle it, and not the size of the venue.
P.S. - KK, Andew, and TM, keep the fucking password to yourself. The reason that only mailing list members get the password is so real fans have access early ticket sales. not so you can post it on some website so any old joe can grab all the presale tickets before the real fans who took the time to sign up for the mailing list get the chance. if people want to get presale tickets, they can sign up for the list like the rest of us. you are what is wrong with the system and you should immediately delete yourself from the mailing list for being such a disgrace.

FrixFrixFrix: The presale password is from the MSG & Radio City Music Hall mailing list, not Tenacious D's, so screw you.

Did anyone get tickets?
I guess it was the same password for the Tenacious D fan and Live Nation mailing lists.

Is anyone else having trouble getting onto ticketmaster? It appears the site has been down for a while; I cannot access it on Firefox, Netscape, or Explorer.

what was the backstage access about?
Posted by Anonymous | October 12, 2006 8:45 PM
Backstage Access is just the fancy-shmancy name for the MSG & Radio City Music Hall mailing list.

I was at their show at the RDS in Dublin last night. The audience were a complete bunch of assholes and Hamburger left halfway through his act cause he got booed so much. The D were awesome though.
