The Fall playing Todd P Brooklyn show @ Studio B
Who said Todd P only caters to the kids? Two days after Mark E. Smith and the Fall play their CMJ showcase at Hiro Ballroom, they'll appear again at the "air conditioned & heated" Studio B in Greenpoint - Brooklyn, NY (11/6 w/ Rock Bottom). Tickets will only be available at the door.

Fall shows can be amazing or total fubar, but they're rarely dull. MES is a genius, even if he does look like he could tip over for good at any time.

eh, i think these days if you already saw the fall, there's no need to see them a second time.

everytime i've seen them it's been completely different..3 times, i think? anyway, i'm going...you never know when this man's going to explode and go crazy. i want to be there when it happens. camera in tow.

the most important thing about this show is that it's ALL AGES

"aren't pretty much all of todd p's show all ages?"
yes, but the hiro ballroom show probably isn't

acording to a recent BV post, it's illegal to have all-ages shows.

What the above commenter/spreader of misinformation is referring to is the recent BV post which quoted Tricia Romano's recent Village Voice Fly Life column about the NY Nightlife Summit (or whatever it was called). According to that column, people under 21 can be admitted into an establishment that serves alcohol only if they are at least 17 and the establishment serves food as well as alcohol. Given the numerous shows that allow in people under 21 without satisfying both of those requirements, the accuracy of Ms. Romano's statement is questionable.

What's more, even *if* all-ages shows are illegal, if you're under 21 and you go to an all-ages show, you don't have to worry about getting in trouble with the law yourself if the popo raid the show, unless they catch you drinking alcohol.

Does Todd P's website mangle anyone else's eyes, or is it just me?

Hey, what can I say. I don't know HTML or whatever the fuck people use these days
Posted by klaus_kinski | October 21, 2006 7:58 PM
from the NY state liquor authority web site:
"According to Section 260.21 of the Penal Law, persons under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to enter an on premises establishment."

Todd P's website is annoying, but functional. I prefer his crappy HTML to a Flash site anyday.
What is terrible is the RSS feed. He doesn't understand what RSS is supposed to do.
