TV On the Radio played Irving Plaza
TVOTR @ IRVING PLAZA, NYC | OCT 18, 2006 (BY Tod Seelie)

TV on the Radio and Grizzly Bear just finished their two night run at Irving Plaza in NYC.

Don't know if you caught it, but TV On The Radio had some prime-time air this week on two shows: Tuesday night's FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS used "Wolf Like Me" during a football practice montage and last night's GREY'S ANATOMY used "Province" during a pretty-people-with-neverending-melodramatic-relationship-crises-using-overblown-medical-maladies-as-metaphor montage. I taped last night's show and it came out niiiiiiice.... also got two full length videos of the last 2 songs.....
I'm sorry but Irving Plaza is possibly worse then Webster Hall at this point... the talking was LOUDER than the performance... effing hell people... SHUT UP or sell your tickets to people will come to LISTEN to the music.
UGHHHH.

I have been noticing that same talkative effect at a LOT of shows in NYC recently. What happened to the silence that NY crowds were always known for?
I was at the Arab Strap show at Southpaw a few months back, and you couldn't hear the band over the crowd chatter. The same went for Massive Attack at Roseland (which truly pissed me off!).

I would scrub their toilets.

"What happened to the silence that NY crowds were always known for?"
When were NYC crowds ever known for their silence? Don't confuse indifference and silence.

I thought NY crowds were known for stoicism.
A friend once told me at a Blood Brothers show one of the singers tried to get people loud, since nobody was moving.

I think you've mistaken stoicsm for STONED OUT OF THEIR MIND... k?

Help!!! I am dying to find out if somebody could help me with the set list from the October 18th show.
Oh please, please, please help me.
Their show rocked! I was in front so I didn't have a problem with the noisy crowd. Oh well...
Thanks in advance to whoever can help me. Peace! :)
