surprisingly, i like it.
i love joanna newsom, and i couldn't have pictured someone doing a good cover until i heard it.

yeah, it's pretty good. i'm wondering what that m ward version sounds like because just playing it on an acoustic guitar alone can sound pretty bad. i recall hearing some kids doing a pretty emo-fied version on purevolume or something.

Booo! This just doesn't respect or fit with original intent or mood. Doing this as a poppy punchy Nashville type tune just doesn't work. The boom thump drums and twangy electric guitar riffs, was that really a good fit? If you going to do this with a full on country western band use a slide guitar, set the mood a little better, add a fiddle and mandolin. Some of the vocals work but some them just kill the mood. What I'm trying to say is you don't turn a dirge into a foot tapper; it just doesn't work.
