Dylan Tribute

Jay Farrar was fighting a cold so he had to cancel the November 8th Gob Iron show at Northsix in Brooklyn. He did make it to Lincoln Center the next day for the Bob Dylan tribute show though - luckily he only had to play one song at that one. The Gob Iron show is rescheduled for January 20, 2007. Check out the rest of Gob Iron's tour dates.

Dylan Tribute

"We'd been sleepwalking through the big-shot Bob Dylan tribute hoedown for roughly an hour and a half, clapping politely-to-semi-enthusiastically as Joan Osborne looked serene, Bob Mould looked dapper, Warren Haynes looked like a roadie, Lee Renaldo looked awkwardly triumphant, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah looked hopelessly out of place, Phil Lesh looked helpless." [Village Voice]

"One day after Twyla Tharp’s astoundly dreadful Broadway production 'The Times They Are A Changin’' received it’s death sentence, twenty-two artists took the stage at Avery Fisher Hall in New York City to deliver renditions of Bob Dylan classics that were every bit as beautiful and transcendent as Tharp’s were flat and hollow." [Rolling Stone]

Did the Voice pay Rob Harvilla to write that article?
Is he trying to be funny, whimsical, sarcastic?
He obviously has no idea about MMW. Martin was on percussion, the "extra Wood" was on guitar and doing the singing. In Lee Renaldo's set "great organ work by some guy in a hoodie" was no other than Medeski.
Man did this guy mail it in....I know times are tough over at the Voice, but please...horrible.
