CALLUM ROBBINS

"It is an understatement to call this a heartbreaking situation. It also stands to be an unbelievably expensive one, especially for a household where the only wage-earner is a self-employed indie recording engineer. It remains unclear just how helpful J.'s single-payer insurance will be." [PLEASE READ MORE]

Hey Brooklyn Vegan crew -
Thanks loads for your post. It has been tremendously uplifting to J., Janet, and all of us involved to see the community come together in such a generous way around this really sad turn of events. Bad things do happen to good people, but it’s comforting to know that when they do, other good people selflessly step up to help.
J. has posted an update on his personal site, so in addition to our overview on DeSoto, I encourage folks to check out http://www.jrobbins.net/news/index.htm for the latest from J. himself.
Thanks again, and best to all,
Bill B

This is tremendously difficult news for any parent. My heart goes out to J and his family as they work through this.

J. Robbins is a GREAT guy and this sucks. Not to mention, Jawbox is one of the most underrated bands ever.

"Jawbox is one of the most underrated bands ever."
I wouldn't call them underrated. Anyone who has heard them simply loves them. Do you mean unrecognized?

underrated as in, during the 90s, they should have at least been as "big" as a band like Helmet.

underrated/unrecognized as in it's a shame J Robbins doesn't have the money he needs for this already.

J relayed the news to me personally, and I was seriously at a loss for words. So sad. J and Janet are such good people, and it's a shame that this is happening. Please do what you can to help!

definitely donate whatever you can even if its like 5 bux. who doesn't have 5 bux?!
how about a jawbox reunion to raise money for the cause?! I'd go down to DC for it.

As a parent of 2 (4 and 7 mos.), it just rips me apart to ready stuff like this. I have no clue who this guy is, but I can't look at the picture of that little guy in his onesie and PJs and NOT donate.

There are 100's if not 1000's of people in the world who would buy J. and/or Janet a beer/tea/sandwich if they saw them around. If you are one of those people, send them that beer/tea/sandwich money (or more if you can.) These are beautiful folks who will use it well. If you have never met them, you are missing out.
Keep the love flowing their way.
