Nas playing Webster Hall on Monday + more lists

NasNas' new album Hip Hop is Dead comes out this Tuesday December 19th - a really bad release date to have if you want to make it on to anyone's year-end 'best of' list. To celebrate - aka drum up some attention - Nas is playing Webster Hall in NYC on Monday December 18th. The previously announced Nas shows are four days later at Nokia Theatre.

The Passion of the Weiss says:
* The 10 Best Hip-Hop Albums of 2006

* The 7 Albums That Aren't Nearly As Bad As You've Heard
* The 10 Best Debut LP's of 2006

The Nas album is pretty great and I will be attending his concert, but I have one question about this post.

The Best rapper alive........... Hova is nice, but NAS TAKES TO ANOTHER LEVEL. THE KID IS THE TRUTH. The album is fire, like all of his albums. I swear if this dude wasn't doing music, I weren't be a hip-hop fan. Real Talk. Hip-hop is dead.

One.

Any clue what happened with this show last night? I showed up around 9pm and everything was wrapped...wtf!? Security was spewing "show's over" and every thug, blogger and backpacker were visibly pissed (including myself). Who lists a show's "start time" at 8:30pm and forces everybody out of the venue by 9pm? Hot97, that's who. Terrible way to celebrate an album release.

Backpackers? You mean young adults traveling on a tight budget?

i was pissed, i sent them an angry letter. that is unheard of for a show to start and end so early. plus i already purchased tickets and feel totally cheated.
