love the studio version of Satan Said Dance

But... you're doing what they asked you not to do! I think that they want you to host the mp3s yourself, or link directly to their site.

did they ask that so they would top Elbo charts and appear buzzworthy?

I love these songs. I think they are taking a major step forward. But I'm sure there will be many out there who think it's cool to hate them now.

I think Underwater (You and Me) is fantastic. The other two songs are okay. Actually, nix that. I disliked Satan live, and I dislike it now.

I love Satan Said Dance but the other two songs are horrible. I loved their other record, now I don't think I would go to one of their concerts for fear of hearing tracks off their new album.

Weird, I loved their first album but I don't like these new songs at all. :(

I think that this is a great idea by the band, and a step in the right direction in the internet vs. music business debate. CYHSY aren't losing any money by sending someone a physical copy of the cd if they buy the mp3s on insound - but they are giving people a reason to purchase the album legitimately rather than illegally download it via a filesharing network.

I'm a big believer in the music industry adapting and growing to work with and use the internet to their advantage, rather than bitch and moan about how the labels are losing money and pursue pointless lawsuits against individuals.

The internet has dealt a big blow to the industry, that's for sure - but I commend this band for setting a precedent for forward thinking in this fast-changing industry. They aren't even signed to a label - and they've achieved popularity to the point of becoming a household name. I think the music industry should pull their heads out of their asses and see how they can all work with the changing environment, rather than trying in vain to stop it.

Even if yelpy indie rawk kinda sux lol
