RIP James Brown | viewing @ Apollo Theater Thursday

JAmes Brown live at the Apollo

The body of soul singer James Brown will be returned Thursday to the site of his debut _ the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem _ so the public that saw and heard him leave a lasting impression on music can see him one last time, the Rev. Al Sharpton said Tuesday.

Brown's body will rest on the stage of the Apollo from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., and thousands of people will be permitted one more look at a man who steered modern music toward the rhythm-and-blues, funk, hip-hop, disco and rap beats popular today, said Sharpton, a close friend of Brown for decades.[Newsday]

One of the albums streaming at AOL Music's Full CD Listening Party this week is a compilation of the best tracks from the soundtracks of the Rocky movies. Naturally, "Living in America" is included.

Rejoice! Hear the news of the coming return of the Godfather!

James Brown seeks disciples to spread the good news of the Godfather's return and of his redemption of Soul!

Join the Church of James Brown, and be forever known as a Disciple of Soul.

Repeat the words:

I believe that James Brown died on Christmas day to redeem Soul.
I believe that James Brown is still the Hardest Working Man in Show Business.
I believe that James Brown worked hard to spread the Gospel of Soul, and now, he's returned to the cosmic mothership to preach his gospel from on high, eternally united with the Father of Soul, Brother Ray, who plays keyboards righteously.

I believe that James Brown will return to the Apollo three days after his death to proclaim the power and the glory of Soul. Verily, he shall also be on television, to spread his gospel to the world.

Will you see the light of James Brown?
Will you hear, bear witness to, and spread the message of James Brown, the Soul Brother Number One?
Will you let James Brown in to your heart to purify and redeem Soul?

James Brown was scheduled to perform at B.B. King's on New Year's Eve. They've now scheduled Chaka Khan ("the 'Reigning Queen Of Soul'"? :cough:Aretha:cough:) for that night. However, the club's site fails to state whether or not people who bought tickets for James Brown can get a refund. WTF! http://www.bbkingblues.com/schedule/moreinfo.cgi?id=2559

What's more, if I recall correctly, James Brown was scheduled to perform two shows that night. They didn't call him the hardest-working man in show biz for nothing.

From South Carolina to New York, remembering the man that made put the " MU " in Music .. The man that put the " SO " in Soul .. One can only imagine that soon we'll hear the song, " I'm Livin' In Heaven Now ".

Remembering passing his house off Farmers Blvd. in Long Island, and knowing that a true Soul Musician lived there shall always be a wonderful thought.

God Bless the Soul of James Brown for all that he has done, he accompished and was useful to all of us.
