Bloggies add a music category - nominations open

"The Weblog Awards are a non-profit project created in 2001 to award the best blogs." This year for the first time they have the category "Best Weblog About Music". The public nominates and votes. You can start nominating now. (via)

hey, from the guy who posted the original tip about The Independents thing:

I have nothing to do with this event, I read about it on Pitchfork, was excited about it (and surprised I hadn't heard about it before), and thought it was relevant to this blog because it was happening in Brooklyn and features artists sometimes mentioned on this blog. Is that out of line?

Idunno, names like Thurston Moore, No Neck Blues Band, Lichens and Phil Niblock get my attention - sorry if ya'll don't feel the same way. But I think a bunch of great expiremental artists doing their art at a modest place in Brooklyn for a very modest tick price is pretty 'cool' to me.

But, sorry - I'm distracting from the story about Lily Allen's dog being kidnapped. I would hate to get in the way of real, important news.
