Bright Eyes (who needs extras for a video) showed up @ the M Ward (who is touring with Norah Jones) show

Conor Oberst & M Ward @ Town Hall, NYC | Jan 26, 2007 (CRED)

M Ward played Town Hall in NYC Friday night.

First time seeing him live, and I was not disappointed. He actually surpassed my expectations, which is difficult to do. I knew how good of a finger-picker he was on the acoustic, but his piano playing is equally as proficient. As for the voice, man it just explodes in a live atmosphere. However, his lyrical deliver never seems forced. I was just amazed how naturally the words just flowed out him. [Bob Mapplethorpe]
Frequent M. Ward collaborator Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes) showed up for the last song of the encore. Bright Eyes also needs you (California people) to be in his new video:

In other news, Neon Bible is total snooze-fest.

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2007 4:46 PM

I never really understand why people who think something is a "snooze-fest" take the time to write it on a message board.... especially on a post that has nothing to do with said "snooze-fest".

Back to important news: This concert was great. It was nice to see Matt in this setting again, it reminded of the show that introduced me to him, back on the Monsters of Folk tour with Jim James and Oberst. He was great than, and even better on Friday.

Hey thanks for the heads-up on those Sunset Rubdown tix, Anon#1.

i thought the show was a dud. it seemed pretty uninteresting and 'just good enough'. seriously his songs are boring. 'i feel like california?' 'every town seems the same?' rhetoric!

it's 'phenominal' music for most people, but c'mon it's so bland. i dunno...

his guitar playing isn't anything special, his lyrics are nothing special, his piano playing is... 'nice'. actually, nothing is special about him!

just... very competent. very 'nice'

What is the target presale password. I ordered through Amazon..no password in there. If anyone knows please share. word listed in 4:06 is not correct.
I wonder why people do things like THAT! post a bogus password. BV is becoming an angry stomping ground.

I agree with the second comment. It was a great show. It would have been perfect if that assclown Bright Eyes didn't show up.

5:44PM, it's obvious to me, despite the spelling error, that 4:06PM was just seconding your request for the password.

Norah Jones is going on tour this spring and there will be several presales for concerts in various cities. Unfortunately, if you have not purchased her CD from Target, you will be unable to get tickets through the presale. A unique presale code is printed inside the cover of every CD and only these unique presale codes can be used to access the presale.
