tickets are on sale now - before 3.

ah did this sell out already?

Posted by Lyndsey | January 22, 2007 3:32 PM

do we think surprise guests will include Seu Jorge?

Tickets were on sale at 11am for this. Maybe they still have tickets at MoMA?

And as far as Cat Power being better than Amy, that was just a cute way to post the info. They are very different.

However, if both were playing the same night, I would probably catch Cat Power.

no tickets at moma. does anyone know if there will be an open bar for this like their past events? it sounds awesome!

"Maybe they still have tickets at MoMA?"

Nope. I have been to PopRally events before, they have no tickets.

"does anyone know if there will be an open bar for this like their past events?"

> PopRally would like to thank 10 Cane Rum, Peroni, and the Millennium Hotel for their support.

Looks like rum and shitty beer.

anyone know what time cat power goes on tonight?

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2007 11:17 AM

wow, that was by far the worst crowd experience I have ever had at a show. could barely hear her. yesh.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2007 10:44 AM

Totally agree on the crowd experience. It was horrible.

Some people said she ended her set early as a result. Does anyone know if that was when she was supposed to end? It was hard to see from where I was standing. Since Doug (the artist) made her come out again, I thought maybe she did end early.

What did Melissa Plaut (http://newyorkhack.blogspot.comĀ ) do, just read from her forthcoming book?

Posted by no, this comment is not part of a blogging campaign | February 3, 2007 4:08 PM

oh, and what part of "no flash photography during the performance" is not clear. Why were there so many flashes going off during her performance?

Posted by anon | February 3, 2007 4:12 PM

I think moma needs to get a raised stage for these things. Also, I don't think half the crowd knew or cared that Cat Power was playing, hence all the talking. Then again, how could they know? From where they were standing it was impossible to see.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2007 4:30 PM

yea that was pretty much the lamest concert experience ever. pretty sure most of the people there didnt care about. i left early cause the talking was so bad it was not worth it to stand there.oh well, at least the free poster is kind of cool. I'm assuming the crowd @ hiro on monday will be alot more respectful.

i agree. waiting outside in the freezing cold for an hour surrounded by people who were obviously more concerned about being seen than seeing cat power. once the auctioneers started speaking i left. i saw cat power at hiro last time, it's well worth it. too bad i couldn't get a ticket.

it was so cheap. free drinks. you got to hang out in moma. i think it was obvious from the beginning that it was more of a museum event than a concert.

Posted by beau | February 6, 2007 9:31 AM

i had been hoping the music and free drinks would offer some sort of redemption for the 45 minute wait in the rain (how disorganized were they? it was ridiculous), but alas, i left three songs into cat power's set. i could barely hear her-- so sad. i mean, some talking, okay, and clearly the acoustics there are not designed for a concert, but much of the crowd definitely viewed it as a party rather than a show and were talking loudly. yuck.
