Clap Your Hands Say Yeah played Hammerstein Ballroom -- playing Willie Mae benefit AT BOWERY BALLROOM

CYHSY @ Hammerstein Ballroom, NYC | DEC 31, 2006 (CRED)
Clap Your Hands SAy Yeah @ Hammerstein Ballroom

In case you're wondering who the "special guests" are going to be at the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls benefit at Bowery Ballroom on January 23rd:

Come out for a live auction hosted by Murray Hill where you can bid on great items like a private party at Brooklyn Brewery, an electric guitar and guitar lessons, swanky gear from Marc Jacobs and Anna Sui, stuff autographed by celebrities and so much more! Then stick around to hear music by camper bands and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!
$50.00 tickets are on sale.

That's the same CYHSY that played Hammerstein Ballroom on New Years Eve. Were you there? If so, did you catch openers Bob Mould or Final Fantasy?

CYHSY also just played a last-minute benefit in Philly. Their new album comes out soon. Last year they played a New Years show in NYC too.

the band sounded great, the new songs were done to perfection live, but the show itself left a LOT to be desired.

After waiting 35 minutes in the coat check line and shelling out 8 bucks to check 2 items I waited over 45 minutes to get a drink (missed all of Bob Mould).

CYHSY was ok, but not worth the aggravation or the $40 /ticket. Rip-off.

SOUNDED LIKE BUNG HOLE, POOOPS AND FART ALL OVER NYE, THEY BLOW LIVE, THROW IN THE TOWEL. THEIR NEW SONGS ARE UNLISTENABLE....DID THEY EVEN WRITE THE FIRST ALBUM?

such glorious adjectives steve, i guess we should expect no better from such an enlightened individual as yourself.

or maybe you could at least bring something intelligent to the table if you're going to troll boards to get people riled up.

Ok, I speak english now. I saw them twice the first time they sounded horrible, bad sound engineering or they can't pull there studio sound off live. Gave them a second chance on NYE. I have never been so let down by a live performance, when I loved the studio album so much.

first time seeing cyhsy. they were ok. a little bit past just ok. enjoyable. but overall, I don't get why so many of my friends are CRAZY for 'em. also, way too many frat guys in the audience -- reminds me of back when they discovered modest mouse and ruined it for me. ah, well. I'll give them another chance, maybe at a smaller venue like the polish national home...
