lost Brooklyn goat now safe @ Farm Sanctuary

not the actual goat or brooklyn
"On Saturday, January 6, Farm Sanctuary, the nation’s leading farm animal protection organization, welcomed Joey the goat to its New York Shelter. A young goat around six months old, was found on Wednesday, January 3, wandering among pedestrians in Brooklyn, New York in a busy intersection on Hoyt Street. The Brooklyn branch of Animal Care & Control of New York City (AC&C) was called in to rescue him, after receiving a call from a local resident. Joey is a Boer goat, a larger breed originally from South Africa. Given his ear tag, Brooklyn AC&C determined he must have escaped a slaughterhouse." [Farm Sanctuary]
Sixteen days earlier a baby calf escaped in Brooklyn.

Looking for something to do outside the city one weekend? Stay at Farm Sanctuary's Bed & Breakfast. You'll get to meet the goat and hang out with all their other animals too.

i'm pretty sure you can buy live chickens, goats, etc at a place in "south slope". i think it's in the high teens between 3rd and 4th. good for him!

and there's this nasty place that slaughters animals on Columbia Street in Carroll Gardens/Red Hook - right by Hoyt Street - that might be where the goat escaped from.

Look at that -- a goat roams the streets of Brooklyn and nobody hassles him. It shows Brooklynites ain't prejudice! The streets are safe for people, kitties, dogs, and even goats!
Ain't Brooklyn just GRAND?
Ah, Brooklyn -- I LUV ya!

hi.. my 6 yr old daughter and i are planning a trip to ny and are considering staying with a friend in brooklyn- brunswick area. we've not been to the states before and don't know what to expect from the area we'd be staying in.. so can anyone give us some tips? like will we be safe walking between bus and apartment after dark- and by that i mean 7pm not late night. what do new yorkers think of the area? any particularly bad streets we should avoid?
would be great to hear from absolutely anyone!
