Luna Lounge is operating - - pics & a letter
thx Nora for this picture of the new Luna Lounge in Brooklyn...

The Comas played opening night over the weekend. Pics & more below....
opening night shot

Owner Rob Sacher left this letter in the heated comments:
Hey folks,The Comas - opening nightThanks so much for giving us a chance in Williamsburg. I really want you to know that we are going to do everything we can to bring many of the best qualities of the old Luna Lounge to the new venue while allowing this new version a chance to evolve and become something new and exciting for the next decade.
Luna will be the home of some great shows to come and yes, you'll have to pay the bands for performing most of the time now. It's a good thing to do and I am very happy to be able to provide an opportunity for musicians to earn a living. It's funny, but this sort of reminds me of when Dylan went electric... Odd comparison? Maybe, maybe not...
Thanks again for your support. It's really appreciated...
Best wishes,
Rob Sacher

The place is big, comparable to Bowery Ballroom (minus the downstairs) -- at least that's what it seemed like to me. And it's pretty nice. But it bears little relation to the original.
Nonetheless a welcome addition to the rock club scene. They're gonna have to get some really good shows to keep it open, though.
I did a big writeup of the Friday night opening over my way.

i give this place 6-7 months with the substandard ownership. the land should be properly utilized as luxury condos.

Electric Dylan owns it.

not to mention, when Bowery gets "Music Hall of Williamsburg" open, Luna's days will be numbered.
