Philadelphia's Band of the Year - Man Man
As some like to point out, I'm not the biggest Man Man fan in the world. I'm not AGAINST them though.
Last week I visited their hometown of Philadelphia, and everywhere I went I saw the free VOICE-like weekly newspapers declaring them "Band of the Year" (see picture to the left).
Friday night they headline Bowery Ballroom in NYC for the first time. Mixel Pixel and Plastic Little open.
They also play The First Unitarian Church in Philly on January 12th, and NPR is streaming one of their shows from the summer.

i'm not a huge man man fan either, but I think they are great guys and do what they do well, just not my thing

Man Man are interesting to see live. I wouldn't buy their albums though.

I went to a Man Man show at the Casbah in San Diego on a random night before I even knew who they were. Never in my life have I felt more like a pirate, seriously... I went pillaging after the show!
