"....a reunited Rage Against The Machine, Bjork and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will lead the lineup for the 2007 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, to be held April 27-29 in Indio, Calif. Sources tell Billboard.com the event will also feature a reunion gig from Crowded House as well as the Arcade Fire, Sonic Youth, Air, the Roots, Willie Nelson, Interpol, Manu Chao and Fountains Of Wayne......The full lineup will be announced imminently; it is also expected to sport sets by Jarvis Cocker, the Good, the Bad and the Queen, Hot Chip, Peeping Tom, the Decemberists, Arctic Monkeys, Tiesto, Kings Of Leon, Travis, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Lily Allen, Kaiser Chiefs, Silversun Pickups and LCD Soundsystem. [Billboard]
"Crowded House, one of Australia's biggest musical exports, is re-forming for a world tour. Former frontman Neil Finn and bassist Nick Seymour will hold auditions for a drummer in Melbourne this week. Auditions have also been held in Auckland and Los Angeles.
Founding drummer Paul Hester took his own life two years ago. Sources say Finn will commit 12 months to a world tour." [the Courier Mail]
I'm pretty sure I read !!! was playing Coachella too - already such a good lineup - I could almost be convinced to go this year. Who else is playing that they missed?
Are you going this year? What's your best Coachella memory? What do you think of all day hot festivals? What festival would you rather go to instead?
Did you get tickets via the presale?

I'm pretty sure that Explosions in the Sky and I read that Lupe Fiasco are playing too. RATM, Bjork, and Sonic Youth make it good enough for me to NEED to go.
Last year, Sunday was ridiculously hot but Coachella was such an amazing experience that you don't even let those kind of things bother you. There's a great environment and you meet a lot of good people. Also, the scenery is amazing. Just stay hydrated!

I drove down from Seattle for Coachella in 2004. The heat was freaking killer, almost killed the weekend. But sets from the Flaming Lips, and Belle & Sebastian at sunset made it all worth it. Plus, $2 water. Hooray!

i'm still suspicious of a Police reunion. seems a bit less likely now, though.

If you live in NYC, why is there a need to go to Coachella? Every band plays here eventually. Smaller venues to boot.

Going to the Bowery Ballroom or any other fantastic small venue is a blessing here in NYC (minus the jaded, industry heavy crowds...uh, did I just say that?). That being said, I've gone to Coachella every year and the vibe is great. The background of the polo club, palm trees and the desert can't be beat.
Go see you fav band at the Bowery, like LCD Soundsystem in March. Then go check 'em out in the desert heat with thousands of your closest friends. Well worth it!

Coachella is always a great time. While the last couple of years' headliners may have left something to be desired, there are always tons of other acts worth seeing. The setting is just perfect. Last year was hot, but a blessing compared to the year before.

Hey B, I know you want to appear cool, but someone already posted the list.

RAGE!!! Bush thought he would make it out of office without RATM up his ass...looks like he was wrong. I think I can find some leftover teenage fury for a RATM show.

Thanx for that Daft Punk mp3. I'm hearing rumblings of a massive US tour later this year. Word.

except that B's list is complete, rather than just what's confirmed as of now
hipsters read in 2007 -> make it happen

When will RHCP just go away?

"except that B's list is complete, rather than just what's confirmed as of now"
It's the same list that SFOtoJFK posted. Was there really a need to post it a second time?
