the UK's The Fratellis | HOT OR NOT? | 2007 Tour Dates (NYC, SXSW)

Fratellis

Tickets are now on sale for yet another show by another UK band (March 22, Mercury Lounge) They're called the Fratellis, and what I've heard so far is not that pleasurable, but here are their credentials:

* NME writes about them
* Up for a Brit Award
* Playing the Brit Awards
* in iTunes ads
* IGIF says they are bigtime
* Stereogum is watching them
* Modern Age liked them one day
* They rock Cleveland
* Fratellis Top of the Pops

They're also playing SXSW, and The Troubadour in LA on March 19th. So, are the Fratellis.. HOT OR NOT?

They're the iPod's new baby band. If they're not big now, they will be.

another boring twangy clone. lame pub rock at its best. i can see music bizzers at merc. lnge. sipping overpriced beer and nodding back and forth to another vapid 'it' band. yay. bring on something original.

They're all brothers. How cute is that?

Nothing any more original than the usual fare coming out of the UK, but that said, still sound fun and standard Brit stuff is still kicking the shit out of most of what's popping up on these shores.
