As many may have noticed, there was no Village Voice Film Critics Poll this year....

Not to worry - Dennis Lim just moved it to indieWIRE...
Welcome to the first annual indieWIRE film critics' poll. If you're experiencing deja vu, it's because this national survey is a direct descendant of the Village Voice poll, which I conducted from 1999 to 2005 ("Take One" through "Take Seven") with the help of my former colleagues J. Hoberman and Michael Atkinson. Recent developments at the Voice have left that poll without a home and the good folks at indieWIRE have graciously stepped in to adopt it....and "Best Film" went to --> "The Death of Mr. Lazarescu"
Coming soon: The conclusion to the Pazz & Jop / Jackin' Pop wars. (thx Sarah & J)

Good riddance to that Pazz and Jop slop, and Christgau too!
Though he's on NPR now, it's worse to hear his tortured logic than to read it, even.

The Death of Mr. Lazarescu is a truly original, and amazing piece of work.
