I guess I should feel bad after walking out of their absurdly overcrowded Webster Hall show a few years back after only 3 songs....

trey article linked leaves out that heroin was also on the list of substances found in his possession.

$1000 for each general admission ticket?! If I was in the arcade fire, I would just stand in line at the box office for tickets to my own show and sell them on ebay.
Posted by Paul | January 5, 2007 12:23 PM
I would have tried to sold a pair on ebay if i got another night for face value, but $1000...cmon...plus.. I mean I got 1 ticket, but it's not the holy grail of tickets...
still kicking myself for not going to see DFA1979 in Philly (yes, i have the tix printed from r5)

Hey bryce, your plan worked! After reading your post, I thought to myself, "Man that Bryce must really live on the cutting edge of, music, coolness, and life in general. Unlike oh-so-many sheep, he is a pioneer who shuns convention and walks out on shows the instant he recognizes conformity or senses that an overrated performance isn't worth his valuable time.
Bravo!

horse > silent in the morning?
I didn't hear anything about that.

As many who watched the PS3 ebay auctions know, ebay is easily abused. I sorely doubt that, that is a genuine auction.

I am pissed off. I want to start a competing anti-cover band called the Penny Arcade Fire. Let’s all join together and take over the church. I am already going to hell for various other reasons.

ooo snap!
i love having my coolness confirmed! Thanks rulebook!

From the Bowery Presents website:
PLEASE NOTE:
TICKETS ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE. The ticket purchaser must enter the venue. Copies of ID, Credit Card or Confirmation email WILL NOT be accepted for entry. Only complete parties will be admitted. No exceptions. Please DO NOT buy tickets on eBay, Craig's List, etc. YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED!
Posted by Anonymous | January 5, 2007 1:12 PM
And you wonder why ticket prices are going up. Who is the fool who is going to pay this price. Like The Arcade Fire, but no band is worth that price. NONE.
Posted by fortyver | January 5, 2007 1:37 PM
Is that price even legal? I'm curious b/c the ebay ad doesn't even state any extra "amenities" or whatever.
Pretty sure in New York ticket resales are supposed to be no more than $5 or 10% of the face value, although ticket brokers get around that by charging the extra for some type of added amenity, like a free drink or something.

there should be a better way to get these tickets to people who really want to see them. (i dont care) internet tickets are something that never works especially being arcade fire and playing in a small church. like someone said a scalper might easily sell a ticket for really expensive and escort her in, hang out and listen and walk out. if you are going to distribute the tickets online, you might shove that church up your ass. a box office that only sells one ticket to one person, which are nontransferable because you get put into a list rather than being given a ticket? doesnt this sound better?
Posted by whistlesandflowers | January 5, 2007 2:44 PM
I don't care what the scenario is...I would feel awfully stupid paying $1,000 to see any band...especially if I had to actually meet the person that ripped me off. That would totally kill the buzz.

for pit radiohead tickets at the theatre at msg were going for 1000 for two...c'mon radiohead or the arcade fire...with or without this grandiose church organ. Small shows are cool but when 700 really sweaty kids are rubbing against me i'd rather see the arcade fire at MSG or radio city, better sound, less aggravation

$16 for shipping? pff..ridiculous.
Posted by alex | January 6, 2007 4:38 AM
how pissed is he/she gonna be when they doesnt get in...
fuck thatll be amazing....
remember kids - non-transferable means NOT FUCKING HAPPENING

Why don't they just play a larger, more established venue? Their choice to play this small church set up this tix disaster.

They will, in May. This was just to debut new material and a special treat for their fans.
