Highly disappointing. Really nothing special about this album. That'll teach me to get my hopes up anymore.

I highly disagree with Chris, I'm loving this album, took much less to grown on me than Silent Alarm, even though some tracks from SA are hard to top, AWITC is hardly disappointing.

Pedro, you have a face and an opinion only a mother could love.

i've had the album for a few weeks now...and wasn't impressed by the first few listens. it takes a while to realize its delicacy and appreciate its density. kudos to jacknife lee, kele and the boys.

hunting for witches is nasty baby. nasty.

Can't wait to see them at the Congress! Hopefully they play more songs from Silent Alarm since those are the most upbeat tunes dictated by the drums. Still some great songs on Weekend.

very '80's. present day me isn't really feeling this song, but i might have flipped out for it in high school. when i was more of a sap.

yawn, this album makes me sleepy.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not comparing this album to Silent Alarm. Do I have to? (This isn't rhetorical).
I've listened to this album a couple of times now and I wanted to like it because I think Bloc Party have a great sound but it really doesn't do it for me. Do I have to keep listening to it to let it "grow on me"?
I think there's too many good albums so far this year to spend time on an album that I think is sub-par. Am I wrong?

I really didn't like at at first either...thought it was weak and un-invigorating (basically the opposite of Silent Alarm). But I tell ya...it really did grow on me. All of a sudden, one day I was listening to it...maybe it was "I Still Remember"...and suddenly it *clicked*...now I think it's one of my favorite albums in years. Plus Hunting For Witches alone makes it worth the purchase...and yes I did purchase it after DL'ing it, and deciding it actually is THAT good.

Am I the only one that realizes that the riff for Hunting for Witches was directly lifted from Helicopter?
I like the album as a whole, mostly.

do you ever see a blog post and secretly wish there were no comments on it, validating your complete disinterest and disregard for the topic at hand?
eh, i'm probably just pissed i couldn't be the first to acronym-ify the new bloc party album title. cyhsYYY!
