I was there! What a night.
The best performances-
Patti Smith doing Because The Night (she said the song saved her life/career many a time in her life )
Elysian Fields doing Streets of Fire (her energy, voice and emotion scorched the hall)
Odetta-57 Channels (the legend was great even in her wheelchair)
Robin Holcomb doing Disguise (original pianist w/ cool chords)
Earle, Badly Drawn Boy and The Hold Steady were also all good.
The greatest treat was getting The Boss himself at the end! Coolest!
He THE MAN!
