I wasn't a huge fan of the electro-dancey French group Prototypes, but their songs are growing on me. You might remember they played their first-ever U.S. show in Brooklyn, or you might know them from an iPod shuffle commercial.

Fujiya & Miyagi, a UK electro-dancey group, just added a 3nd NYC show at Mercury Lounge on March 20th. Tickets are also still on sale for their previously announced March 18th show @ Mercury Lounge, WHICH Prototypes are now opening. Their 3rd show is at a college.

Prototypes and Fujiya & Miyagi will both be at SXSW too. Each will probably be playing a million different shows. For instance, Fujiya & Miyagi are playing the Pitchfork party, and Prototypes are playing the just-announced super-sized BLOG PARTY - a 2-day extravaganza featuring music curated by Brooklyn Vegan contributor Largehearted Boy PLUS Chromewaves, Gorilla Vs Bear, My Old Kentucky Blog, Rock Insider, and You Ain't No Picasso.

Prototypes live are basically a garage band. At least they were when I saw them at Magnetic Fields last year.

A good garage band, but they don't sound at all like their iPod jingle. Barely went near their keyboard.

i saw the prototypes too and same thing...they're ok live. more of a studio band.

Lads and lasses rest assured, Prototypes will have many sonic goodies with them for these US dates and we're told synth-sounds will abound A great time to be had by all. Enjoy!

Why isn't BV contributor David Bruno (slap you in public) working the Blog Party? Poor planning.

Brooklyn Vegan actually has nothing to do with the Blog Party. Largehearted Boy merely represents Largehearted Boy at that show. Also, and unfortunately, David Bruno will not be attending SXSW this year.

i prefer conferences with beaches...

They are great on stage, but to appreciate il faut parler français!

yo is that Spaceland date still viable? I can't find any info on spacelands website and prototypes myspace page doesn't mention an LA date.
