Imogen Heap playing NYC (The Box) & LA
Imogen @ The Grammys, Feb 10, 2007

Expensive tickets are on sale for two Imogen Heap shows at The Box in NYC on February 15. As far as I know this is the first time you can actually buy tickets to see a show at this new venue. Mika & Queens of the Stone Age both played events there though. More details on this, and two LA shows, below....
"Imogen Heap Performs 'I Megaphone' - 12.02.07Thx VejGurl. On Tuesday 13th Feb and Thursday 15th Feb Imogen will perform 2 very special shows - one on each coast of the USA. The shows in LA and NYC will be very special piano-only performances, during which Imogen will exclusively play songs from her recently re-released 1998 debut album 'I Megaphone'. There will be no 'Speak For Yourself' tracks, and non of the usual 'gadets', just Immi and her piano, playing songs she hasn't performed for a very long time, and is unlikely to perform again for a long time!
There will be 2 performances each evening, at 'The Silent Movie Theatre' in Los Angeles (8pm & 10pm) and 'The Box' in New York (6pm & 9pm).
LA tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster.
NYC tickets can be purchased at Ticketweb.

I believe they sold tickets via ticketweb for some burlesque sort of show. It was a couple months ago.

Wow, $35 for a singer with no backup band and no openers? Ca-ching!

35 smackers. Can she keep that awesome Cher effect on her voice for the whole show?
That's about double what I paid to see Malkmus last night. No thanks.

this place is owned by a hammerstein heir... i ran into a bartender who was working there recently during fashion week and it was $14 for a mixed drink. i thought that it might be a different story if they intended to throw shows there but it's looking otherwise based on ticket price... and don't be fooled, this is not an old theater. this is a store that was very recently rebuilt to appear as if it existed 65 or so years ago...

i just went to this show. it was pretty great. a bit expensive, yes. but the interior was abslutely incredible, and the space very intimate. i was standing at the back of the balcony and imogen heap was still only, at most, 40-50 feet way. wonderful sound system too. very clear. again though, the interior is beautiful! it was the first time i've ever felt underdressed for a concert in new york, based solely on my surroundings. this place makes you want to put on a tux and live it up with some good friends (in one of the U-shaped booths) while being entertained only feet away. i'm looking forward to its official opening, although i'm sure tickets to anyone playing here are going to be hard to come by due to its size and desirability. still though, a perfect 10 / 10. i was very impressed.
