Lapko, Callisto, KTU & other music from Finland coming to LA, NYC, Toronto, SXSW

"Music Export Finland is proud to announce the first annual US Finnish Music showcases and SXSW night. A diverse line-up of Finnish talent is slated to perform in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto and Austin. These showcases are designed to import talent to the US and secure new opportunities and exposure for Finnish artists."
Disco Ensemble (pop punk?), Lodger (their website is annoying), KTU (Kimmo Pohjonen, Trey Gunn, Pat Mastelotto) (experimental accordian?) , and 22-Pistepirkko (they've been playing together since 1980) are part of this tour......

March 09 Toronto - Canadian Music Week Showcase - Drake Underground
March 12 New York - The Knitting Factory (tickets)
March 14 Austin - SXSW Finnish Showcase - Uncle Flirty's (upstairs at The Drink)
Separately, the Finnish bands LAPKO, Rubik and Callisto are playing the "Fullsteam Records" showcase @ Sin-e in NYC on March 11th, and two days earlier at Canadian Music Week in Toronto with Arts & Crafts bands Young Galaxy and Apostle of Hustle All three Fullsteam bands will also be at SXSW.
Other Finnish artists coming to SXSW include Irina Bjorklund ("Actress, Singer, Songwriter & Musical Saw Player") & Peter Fox (also known for burritos), The Crash, I Walk The Line, Sister Flo, and Astrid Swan.

Disco Ensemble and 22-Pistepirkko are definitely worth checking out! All those bands are proves that there more than metal music coming from Finland.
