"Live from London" @ Mercury Lounge too ++ Tunng Tour Dates & buzz band Winterkids

Tickets are on sale for The Holloways (TVT Records), Tunng (Full Time Hobby), Pop Levi (Counter) & Winterkids (unsigned) @ Mercury Lounge in NYC on March 13th. And not only is this show the same night as the "Live from London" showcase at Bowery Ballroom, this show is also a "Live From London" event.
Live from London has been created as a 'shop window' to the London music scene and aims to reflect a typical night out in the city for industry and audiences alike. It is also an additional opportunity to increase the exposure and reach of London acts and music businesses whilst traveling to the US for the Austin-based SxSW music convention starting March 14th.There is also a related invite-only aftershow happening at Mercury Lounge that night. I don't know who's playing it, but the Tarts of Pleasure are DJing.
Jerry Yeti is obviously very excited about Tunng being here. Here are their dates:

Most interesting though is the buzzzzzzzz surrounding the "unsigned" band Winterkids. Of course then there's Stylus. You can watch a video.

Its Tunng not Tuung, I actually had to see if it was a different band!

Also the Tunng show is at Union Hall not Pool.

Indeed. Tunng. If you are making letter-placards for the show make sure you turn that "u" upside down.
And as Anonymous said, Tunng's website lists Union Pool and it's wrong. It's at Union Hall with Loney, Dear.

I knew that show was at Union Hall too, but when I searched ticketweb for "tuung" and nothing came up, I figured I was nuts and left "Union Pool" as they listed it on MySpace.

Surely you still can’t stop dancing along to “Tape It,” WinterKids’ dangerously catchy debut single. The track propelled the group of U.K. twenty-somethings to the top of the U.K. buzz band list earlier this year after making its way around the internet, finally popping up on Pitchfork’s Forkcast. So we were psyched to hear that the rest of the album is equally as danceable, catchy, and all around brilliant. Combining Brit-pop, post-punk, and new wave the WinterKids’ debut release, Memoirs, packs a mean punch. The album will be released stateside digitally on March 12th via Little House Records. In the meantime mark those calendars, because you’ve got a date to keep. The ‘Kids are performing in NYC March 11th and 13th before heading south for Austin.
