Stubbs

yep...

3/21 Rodrigo Y Gabriela

This show has moved from Bowery Ballroom to Webster Hall - 125 11th St. New York , NY 10003.
All tickets will be valid at the new venue. If you are on the Will Call list - this list will be at Webster Hall on the night of the show.

Thank You

and thank YOU douglas for forwarding that to me.

Rodrigo y Gabriela are playing Stubbs during SXSW. Here's who else I think is playing there:

night
3/14 - NME w/ The Bravery & ?
3/15 - Bloc Party, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Good Shoes, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Blacktop Mourning, Fionn Regan (this one is probably not all the same show?)
3/16 - The Good The Bad & The Queen, Badly Drawn Boy, Simple Kid
3/17 - Iggy Pop & The Stooges, Kings of Leon, Spoon, Paolo Nutini, A Fine Frenzy

day
3/15 - VICE w/ The Melvins, Pelican, Boris, Panthers (invite only)
3/16 - SPIN? (invite only)

Do you have any to add to that? Last year I saw Lyle Lovett there!

Also check out the announced list of who is playing everywhere.

Awesome. Their percussive acoustic stuff is so much better when accompanied by the THUMP-THUMP-THUMP of dance music rising up through the floor.

Refends being given at point of purchase, I hope.

Can we get our $ back? I bought tickets for Bowery not Webster.

People, let's return all our tickets. I really want to see Rodrigo Y Gabriela, but we need to do something to stop this ongoing Bowery Presents bait-and-switch.

This venue-switching has gotten out of control.

Switching from Mercury Lounge to Bowery Ballroom is not bad since both venues are decent, but Webster Hall is terrible. Bowery Presents must be switched dozens of shows a month by now.

No way I would have bought my tix if I knew they would be playing Webster Hall. How is this legal?

March 21 is a Wednesday. Does Webster Hall have club nights on Wednesday?

I'm wondering who is going to play the "kick-off" show at Stubb's, the Tuesday night show that is not officially a part of SXSW. Last year, it was The Strokes. It's usually announced by now.

Even Drew knows the Strokes are losers at this point.

A change of venue can be really annoying, but for what it's worth, I doubt the Bowery Presents are the only people who make the decision to move a show - the artist's management probably has a major say. When an artist can sell more tickets, everyone makes more money, not just the promoter, right?

Razorlight are also doing the NME show, but I don't know why The Bravery are involved :X

The Toadies are playing Stubb's on 3/13. Go to the following url for great listing of free day shows: http://www.showlistaustin.com/

Ya obivously the bands and their management push for shows to move to a bigger venue when the demand is there. Bands stand to make a good deal more $$ and play to a larger audience so its quite logical.
