Won't anyone ever explain to me what the phrase "pull shapes" means?

i'm conflicted.
while it's good news for the girls, i fear interscope is about to market the fuck out of them. and that could be bad news.

I think "pulling shapes" has something to do with a penis.

What leads you to believe that a record label would want to heavily market one of its bands? That doesn't make any sense at all. I think Interscope will do everything in its power to make sure the Pipettes sell no records, play really tiny clubs with cheap tickets and generally bring in no profit at all.

in case you haven't noticed, major labels rarely market their bands, or do so incorrectly, leading to their being dropped. see the capitol posts from the past few days on this site.

to pull shapes is to strike poses. my friends use it to describe people like bono and johnny borrell and other "expressive" frontmen.

Not like it's a bad thing, but I have to admit that I have a soft spot for "Pull Shapes" and "Judy" alike. Definitely prefer the Pipettes to Lilly Allen.

nah it just means to dance

Pulling shapes is more voguing than just plain dancing. You've gotta love the band though! We Are The Pipettes is SUCH a great album!
Dirty Mind and Your Kisses Are Wasted On Me are brilliant tracks.
