(unpopular?) Scissor Sisters | 2007 Tour Dates & on TV

Scissor Sisters

"SCISSOR SISTERS make their acting debut guest starring on NBC’s popular daytime drama 'Passions' airing February 8 and 9 (2 pm in most markets). The band will be performing two songs, 'I Don’t Feel Like Dancin' and 'Land of a Thousand Words'."

Is the TV appearance another attempt at raising Scissor Sisters' profile in Middle America? As David Bruno pointed out, Tricia Romano wrote another article in the Voice this week about the band not catching on in the US. Will Mika catch on instead? Updated March SS tour dates below....

Scissor Sisters | 2007 Tour Dates

3/03 New York, NY Theater at Madison Square Garden
3/04 Washington, DC 9:30 Club
3/08 Detroit, MI State Theatre

3/11 Maplewood, MN Myth
3/12 Saint Louis, MO The Pageant

Ass sucks cranky

I once had the unfortunate experience of working in a small office with a huge SS fan, & guess what was playing on our little stereo all the time? I already didn't like them much before, but after having to listen to them over-and-over again..ugh.

Ana in real life looks fine. Someone photoshopped the shit out her in that photo, unless that's a different dame altogether.

theyre way too flamboyant for middle america...and they arent very good either.

Please... yes, it's SUCH a travesty that this band hasn't caught on more in North America. We just have such poor taste in music, what are we thinking?

Newsflash, Tricia: the new album is awful, their first and only other album isn't much better.

I dont understand why they want to catch on so badly in 'middle America'-whatever that is. Or why some British bands go through hell trying to do the same.

I agree that they are overrated though-they seem like a lot of NYC bands-they are dabbling in music, prize image over the songs, and have a small bag of tricks; tricks=bands, styles that they crib from and that bag is obviously starting to run on empty. I give them one more decent album and then they will be like Lady Miss Kier or something-has-beens who will only get love in downtown Manhattan clubs and around gay pride season.

The track "The Other Side" from the new SS disc is really quite good.

Jamiroquai Forever!

Passions is "popular?" It just got canceled. Sad that this is the best big SS can get. I thought their first album was really fun but the second one is god-awful.

Hey... that must mean... ANA IS DEAD!

Um, I think it's cos they're gay and stuff.

I heard feel like dancin' at barnes and noble..pretty much the gayest song I ever heard

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2007 5:27 PM

I got busy in the barnes and noble bathroom

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2007 5:32 PM

um, they've sold nearly 1000 tickets in st louis for their show in march. which surpassed what they drew last year here.

They are a hit in the gay populations mostly. I don't know why, but they are. What I don't get is how Robbie Williams isn't a hit in the US.

rather go see akron/family at the turf club or badly drawn boy & adem at the fine line, all on the same evening. as cheap as these two are i couldnt see paying 30 bucks to see SS at the 3500 capacity myth.

isn't Elton John gay?
does middle america hate him
probably just their tunes

they should try a re-write of "candle in the wind"/"england's rose"
or maybe back a repub for pres.

just a thought

I like 'em.
Hoping to get a ticket for MSG off Craigslist, despite the unfortunate overpricing.

Scissor Sisters are AMAZING!!!! Middle America need to get over their fixation with queer-bashing and get on-board with great music!
