Read this great article on album cover art and compare some great inspired covers to their inspiration.
"One can hardly imagine the genre-busting, culture-crossing musical magic of Outkast, Prince, Erykah Badu, Rick James, The Roots, or even the early Red Hot Chili Peppers without the influence of R&B pioneer Betty Davis." Ice Cube, Talib Kweli, and Ludacris have rhymed over Betty Davis tracks. They Say I'm Different and Betty Davis were both recently re-mastered and re-released, by Light In The Attic Records, for the first time ever since the 1970's with special unreleased bonus tracks.

I'd like to add that a group called "The Wisemen" dropped an album this week that features guest appearances by the GZA, Killah Priest, Vast Aire, and Planet Asia. The album is called "Wisemen Approaching," and it's not too shabby.

50 end Cam's career? That's a joke. I thought D-Block already ended 50 and it looks like Cam's got him again. Hopefully Brooklyn Vegan will end your career.
Lupe is the truth.

Hey, I was at that Clipse show as well and posted a review and tons of photos. Any chance I could get a link up there as well?

"* Watch 50 Cent's video for Funeral Music, aimed to end Cam'ron's career. Funny stuff."
I say he is aiming to end his career, not ending his career. I'm not a 50 fan, or a Cam fan for that matter, so I didn't put any judgement in there. Just said it was funny.

I donno where Wes' ears are, but they're sleeping on the Brooklyn scence. No word on the Mos Def @ BAM concert. He's sleeping on the best funky, concious jazz-rock-guitar-metal-hip-hop BaNd of the Year: ADM (myspace.com/theadmband)
He's giving love to PE and some oldskool cats. It's all good he just has to keep those ears open.

I actually included three links to reviews for Mos Def's BAM concert in last week's post which unfortunately ended up not making it to a screen near you due to unforeseen circumstances. felt it wasn't timely enough for this week's post
i'm aware of adm, my own band was featured in the magazine that just featured adm as well, beyond race, so my ears are open, at least on that one
