"The White Stripes are close to inking a long-term, multi-million dollar deal with Warner Bros., sources have confirmed to Billboard.com. The group was previously aligned with the now-defunct V2...."

I wonder what Bloc Party's Kele Okereke thinks about this.

Kele is just jealous that he can't shred.

Agreed. What a chump.

I hope Jack can do a nice balancing act b/n Raconteurs and White Stripes (well, I guess if Meg doesn't mind being put on hold every now and then it won't be a problem). I would really hate to lose either of them for good. I'm so giddy for the next album from either band.

It is now rumored that the Whitestripes will be playing Bonnaroo this year.

Kele is a self-absorbed pedant. The new record is supposed to be a statement, but it is the most ham-fisted, teenage journalesque lyrical tripe.

I don't disagree that artists and musicians are in a position to prod people along the path to wisdom but that doesn't mean preaching to and judging others based on the belief system you've adpoted growing up as young music idol. The world as you see it from your tour bus may look simple to you, dude, but it ain't, so provoke me OK, but drop the attitude, because the truth is you're a lucky, lucky man.
