BV--you're so "meta" with your sense of humor, talking about the being instead of being, i love it.

These are really...really...obvious.

Annoying as in lame?

i'm the guy the annoying hipster douchebag asks about charles barkley. i could tell he was there to egg people on. quite lame.

just because he sucks doesn't mean he has to be
resentful about it

this is easily one the funniest videos i have in quite a well. the dude taps into just about everything that defines the annoying bk hipster. brooklyn hipsters really are the worst in new york (on earth, perhaps?). i heard some "hipster" is living in a bread truck with his wife in (where else) williamsburg. that's pretty cool.

I think the guy with the moustache and headband knew he was being egged on, and he didn't let the comedian get the best of him.
And the comedian's crack about the group of people and what part of Williamsburg they were from? I'm from Canada and have no knowledge of Williamsburg but my only guess about this was that the comedian was making a crack about being from the suburbs. I'm from the suburbs...we all got to live somewhere, don't we. Cracks about the suburbs, it's been done, get over it.

Mike-- I'm the guy in the headband. The only good thing to come out of it was a plug for BrooklynVegan, which I'm proud of... Well, that and now I know never to be kind to fellow filmmakers at Siren Fest. Live and learn I guess.
Posted by Anonymous | March 10, 2007 8:58 PM
I think the question "Which part of Williamsburg are you from?" was the subtlest way of assuming that the questionees were residents of Williasmburg.
A simple FYI for those of you who live in Canada: Williamsburg is New York City's most commonly known and referenced trendy hipster neighborhood (in the most commonly known as the trendiest hipster borough of Brooklyn).
Greg (from East Williamsburg)

And the hipster douchebag guy in the video used to be in a sketch comedy group with my ex-girlfriend (who I just can't stop thinking/dreaming about more than one year later).
Greg (from way-too-personal, somewhat intoxicated East Williamsburg)

looks like tom needs a sense of humor. when he started talking about scottie pippen, i about pissed myself laughing.
i also find it funny that the people being made fun of in this video need to point themselves out on the comments of what's probably the hippest blog out there (no disrespect, i love bv--the blog, anyway).

Ass Ponys "Grim". Nice

"what part of Williamsburg are you from" ....this guy is funny as heck. Way ta stick it to all those real douchebags! Brooklyn sucks and so do the people who listen to indie rock!!!!!!!!!

come on, you all have to admit that fight of the combovers was fucking hilarious!
Posted by Anonymous | March 11, 2007 6:11 AM
he's a douchebag alright.i don't see what is hip about him though. fuck that asshole, he's an idiot. If he asked me one of those stupid questions at a show, I'd be tempted to spit in his face.
Posted by Anonymous | March 11, 2007 10:03 AM
roll call -- how many of you hipsters got your degrees at new school university?

Not the funniest skit in the world, but there are several very funny lines.
"what part of Williamsburg are you from"
Classic! Hipster sheep are sooooo obvious.
Posted by Anonymous | March 11, 2007 12:52 PM
"If he asked me one of those stupid questions at a show, I'd be tempted to spit in his face."
Wow, you are really tough. You would spit in the guy's face for asking you annoying questions. Just walking away and ignoring the guy wouldn't suffice? I got some laughs from that video. I guess it is hitting a little too close to home for some people.
Posted by Joe | March 11, 2007 1:07 PM
The WillieB hipster scene annoys me as much as anyone else, but the guy in this video is just as annoying.
Posted by Brian | March 11, 2007 2:29 PM
T Bird is great, the guy at Siren Festival is an unfunny idiot. The comb over fight couldn't have been less funny. Fuck that guy.
Posted by Perry | March 11, 2007 3:13 PM
I thought he was hilarious! I know too many people like those kids he was teasing. If they had any sense of humor they would have laughed at themselves a little more. Like the guy dressed as Richie from The Royal Tennenbaums. I love when they are all like "We're here to see Tapes N Tapes." Haha, everything is cool when your hipster friends say so. Of course, I like Tapes N Tapes too, but that's cause I've got the hometown pride!

Hi, my name's Lucas Held. i made the Annoying Hipster Douchebag video. i was (pleasantly) surprised to learn it had been posted here on BV. If you liked it, you may enjoy some of my other videos on youtube. just search my name. Thanks for giving a frig.

BROOKLYNVEGAN- THIS SHIT SUCKS. I WANT THOSE THREE MINUTES OF MY LIFE BACK.
Posted by Anonymous | March 11, 2007 11:05 PM
Hi, my name's Lucas Held and I am the ultimate douchebag. I just took 3 minutes of your life you'll never get back not to mention the time of the people I mocked on film. Now I'm using this site to shamelessly promote my other infantile videos that I posted on youtube so I could leave my nasty stain on the web forever. The joke is on you, dufus hipsters.
Posted by Lucas Held | March 11, 2007 11:18 PM
I thought AHD was funny... but it's comedy and shouldn't be taken seriously. It seems like some people got offended that sucks... the joke is half true... including some of the good and the bad you know?
Posted by aj | March 11, 2007 11:38 PM
wow, way too serious. If you were offended by this you need to lighten up.
Posted by Anonymous | March 12, 2007 1:58 AM
HOLD UP: this video has been flagged "IMMATURE" by it's creator. I would have easily punched that guy out, for any of his actions. Just just you're an art student, it doesn't mean you should be obnoxious. disgusting.
Posted by ichi the killer | March 12, 2007 9:56 AM
I highly doubt this guy had anyone sign release forms either. Even Sacha Baron Cohen gets release forms. If I were in the video, I'd consider emailing him. It looks like it's all over the Internet.
Posted by Anonymous | March 12, 2007 10:58 AM

i think this was funny and harmless! it sounds like there are some people here taking themselves waaay too seriously, saying theyed hit or spit on someone if they asked them a mocking/sarcastic question. its easy to be charles bronson on the internet. easy and lame. whats not easy is swallowing your pride and realizing that to some people, you may seem ridiculous and worthy of parody. its this inability to laugh at one's self, that makes people hate hipsters. that and the ironic tshirts.
Posted by brian k | March 12, 2007 11:20 AM
My favorite was when he asked that guy how he bagged the "quirky Japanese girlfriend." (The ultimate hipster accessory.) Classic.
Posted by rosie | March 12, 2007 11:21 AM
ah, i didn't see the entire video when i posted earlier (i stopped after i was on it the first time). just so everyone is aware, the dude spliced the interviews to whatever would make it funny. when i'm saying "i don't care about other people," that was in context to when he was asking if i hate it when a band i like gets successful. i stated something along the lines that "if a band gets popular, they in turn can put out more albums which is all that really matters. other people sometimes hate it when a band gets famous, but i don't care about other people." not to nitpick the video, just wanted to defend my pointless statement on the video.
Posted by tom | March 12, 2007 11:49 AM
sensitive kids!damn i forgot how much fun high school was. and pointless!
Posted by Brundlefly | March 12, 2007 12:09 PM
oh p.s.,
the other day i was at a concert and some dude started asking ME all these obnoxious questions about Beirut, so I punched him in the neck! And then I pulled out my bit and snuffed his ass, cause thats the way we respond to the beef while visiting williamsburg.

Posted by James | March 12, 2007 1:35 PM
Thank you for posting this video BV!! I enjoyed the video and found it very entertaining. But just as entertaining are all the whiney, insecure, macho blogger comments it has induced! Priceless!!
Hey are any of you ironic dirtbags feeling the same outrage at the new Mastercard commercial? Wait a sec, what am I thinking you probably don't even watch TV. Man that is cool!
Posted by Anonymous | March 12, 2007 1:43 PM
That was hilarious.
yeah, the best part about some of the smarter videos posted on line is the string of whinging that follows immediately. who would have known hipsters were so sensitive. I guess their cultivated aloofness makes it hard to believe they have feeling besides sighs.
great vid. i guess it just hit a little too close to self-indulgent masturbatory living for their comfort.
Posted by Anonymous | March 12, 2007 2:18 PM
All of these "stop hating" comments would make sense if the video was funny. It's not, and his editing techniques warp reality to create jokes that don't even really work. It's humorless "comedy" made through poor filmmaking techniques at the expense of people going to a free outdoor concert, people whose interviews are then chopped up and shown out of context.
Posted by Anonymous | March 12, 2007 2:53 PM
I didn't find it funny, even though I'm not really in the "scene". What's funny about several people saying they're there for Tapes N Tapes? "I'm here to see one of the more popular bands that's playing this show?"
Posted by Anonymous | March 12, 2007 3:00 PM
"All of these "stop hating" comments would make sense if the video was funny."
whether or not something is funny is based on personal opinion. i find it very funny. obviously so do other people. the "stop hating" comments u refer too seem to be in response to the flaccid outrage being displayed by some people here. if this was just a "meh" video, would you take the time to post about it?
Posted by Anonymous | March 12, 2007 3:12 PM
"Manginica" haha i love it!

Posted by poopyman | March 12, 2007 3:52 PM
haha that was hilarious
being from manhattan, there is nothing I hate more than brooklyn hipsters.
that guy totally called them out for the pretentious a-holes that they are...
"what record store do you work in?"
"how did you get your quirky japanese gf?"
priceless...
Posted by ts | March 12, 2007 5:26 PM
I don't understand what's "hipster" about having a Japanese girlfriend. Best case, that's really grasping at things to make fun of an entire group of people for. Worst case, it's ignorant racism.
The video was made by a fool. It has no redeeming qualities. It really just highlights the lameness of the self-proclaimed douche bag who has no idea what he is talking about- pop-musically speaking or otherwise.
Posted by Anonymous | March 12, 2007 5:51 PM
This comment thread is living proof of how humorless you ironic motherfuckers really are. Reading your reactions is actually funnier than the video. Given, taking aim at a bunch of Williamsburg kids with overpriced salvation army clothes is kinda like shooting fish in a barrel, but still. The guy ("you're racist") who posted right before me is a perfect example.
Kudos to BV for posting it. It's not meta. For BV it's about the music, and my guess is he's well aware/tired of the baggage that comes the scene.
For all your liberal arts, PC education, and post modern sensibilities you guys are about self aware and individual as breadsticks.
Posted by Anonymous | March 12, 2007 10:57 PM
it's all a scene, one that is slowly turning shitty- you may dislike major labels but where would you be without it

I tend to get lumped with the DC hipster crowd, who no doubt want to be compared to the Williamsburg elite. But those kids at least can laugh at themselves--the infamous Wonkette posted a bunch of photos from an "underwear party" of "coked-out hipsters," complete with mocking commentary. The attendees loved it and I can't tell you how many reposts I've seen.
So lighten up, Brooklynites--grow some thicker skin. Because frankly the way you dress (looking at you, headband man) and your self-righteous and super-serious attitudes about silly things are begging to be torn to shreds.
And Tapes'n'Tapes is awesome.
Posted by DC Representative | March 13, 2007 11:09 AM
$10 says the person defending the video in the comments here is the same shit eating grinned asshole who is the host in it. I can't stand stupid clueless hipster brookylnites either but the video was pathetic and unfunny. I got the feeling that the person asking the questions was completely clueless about independent music and most likely a huge fan of fall out boy or some other jock rock band. To make a satire involves understanding what you're mocking... to go in with a handful of cliched one liners can only result in the opposite effect. Aziz already hit the nail on the head for mocking ny scenesters in his OTHER MUSIC video. To the asshole who made the video: you're not funny and you failed at making fun of one of the easiest targets imaginable.
P.S. What musical movement or recent bands do you identify with that makes you above these people?
Posted by ryan | March 14, 2007 4:38 AM
Is this thread a produced joke as well? Are some of you really fucking serious?
Posted by Anonymous | March 14, 2007 11:34 AM
Yeah, Ryan! I too am galled that some dude would attempt to make a satirical video without first demonstrating his indie music bona fides. Anyway, also per poster boy Ryan, doesn't this jokester know that some guy somewhere has already poked fun at hipsters? So we can add plagiarism to the list of this interviewer's transgressions.
You and me, Ryan, we both hate hipsters -- but we'll both defend to the death their right to live free of satire that doesn't meet our exclusive and impeccable standards of taste and quality.
Now you'll have to excuse me while I go masturbate to my Laserdisc copy of The Man Who Fell to Earth.
Posted by jacob | March 14, 2007 1:38 PM
Jacob--
Why should someone need to list their credentials before they make fun of someone?
I make fun of blacks and jews all the time, but I don't first list my credentials as a gentile.

Posted by Peter III | March 19, 2007 12:26 AM

Posted by Rich | March 20, 2007 6:29 PM
having a quirky japanese gf is hipster? can it be the other way around? any hipster girls interested in japanese boys? i can be either nerdy or annoyingly stylish (hairstyle takes about an hour to form) at your demand.
Posted by hunk solo | March 20, 2007 7:46 PM
UM...yeah. This all was really bad. None of it was funny. You're all a bunch of nerds secretly jealouse of hipsters who fuck hipster females.
Posted by Mat | March 22, 2007 7:26 PM
How can someone with a website called "Brooklyn Vegan" make fun of anyone ELSE for being a hipster?
People always want to think that it is everyone else and not them. If you moved to Brooklyn post college - 75% chance that you are a hipster.
Posted by Jne | April 13, 2007 10:46 AM
Fuck that. 95% chance. To be a hipster is to deny that you are a hipster. Bunch of nappy headed hos. All of you cunts need to shut up and leave. Outspoken opinionated twats. Move out of NYC please. You are not welcome by natives. You have officially ruined the wack part of Brooklyn. Just keep your nonsense down there assholes.
Posted by Anonymous | April 13, 2007 11:48 AM
HAHA this was great
Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2007 12:24 PM
Man, I was born in Brooklyn and then moved away (I want to return). I'm surprised at these supposed Brooklynites' lack of characteristic "toughness".
From an outsider's point of view, the T-bird video was amusing, while the douchebag one was a waste of time.
If you can't laugh at yourself...
