Arctic Monkeys - ticket lottery, Warner Brothers
What do you think of this?
Tickets for the Arctic Monkeys' upcoming U.K. dates will be distributed on a lottery basis to those fans who have already registered their interest online. Through the project, which is hosted at the alternative rockers' official Web site, gig-goers can register for only one date and one venue for the band's mid-size venue national tour.In other news, The Arctic Monkeys are working with Warner Brothers on their new album, and touring the U.S.Successful applicants will be randomly selected by a computer, and served tomorrow (March 16) with a personal PIN code with which to purchase a ticket.
The system, according to a statement posted on the Arctic Monkey's site, allows "everyone to have the best and equal chance" to get tickets....[Billboard]

Wait a second, if you "win" the lottery, you have to see the Artic Monkeys? How is that winning?

Well it was brainstorm when I got my tickets but seemingly they then changed it.
Ticketmaster messing something up? Who'd have thought it. I guess that's how they justify the 33% booking fee they whack on top.
