As reported here in January, NYC music venue Sin-e is unfortunately closing for good. Their last show will be April 1st, 2007. Keep checking their calendar for details on a series of special shows leading up to that date. Some of them are already on sale.
I put together the Friday March 23rd show (the club's 10th-to-last night). Sin-e asked me to do it, and I was more than happy to oblige. And now I'm excited to announce the following lineup - THANKS to all the artists on the bill....

Set times TBA (I listed the bands on the flyer in letter-count order only). If all goes as planned, $10.00 tickets will be on sale at noon. More details below....
Music by:
**Marissa Nadler (Boston)
**Shy Child (NYC)
**Tim Fite (NYC)
**Pela (NYC)
**Fun (Finland)
++ BV dance correspondant David Bruno (Slap You in Public) will be manning the decks.
$10 tix @ Ticketweb & possibly at the door, 21+, bands @ 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12 pm.
YESTERDAY: Pitchfork "recommended" Marissa Nadler.

thanks for supporting such a great venue with so much history, BV. I'll be there for my girl Marissa!

Check out Holler, Wild Rose! at sin-e on 3/17. They're always worth a listen (and viewing).

Enjoyed Marissa Nadler's in-store at Other Music last night. It was a nice introduction to her music, however, due to some sort of legalities, OM did not have the new disc available for sale.

Eh, is this perhaps an April Fool's joke?
