Fratellis add Brooklyn show. Sold out? Amy Winehouse cancels some shows :-( ALBUM STREAMS

Amy WinehouseFratellis

What do the Fratellis and Amy Winehouse have in common? They're both from the UK, they both just won Brit Awards, they both have the same agent, and they're both on Island (Universal). They both also have new albums out this week, and THEY'RE BOTH STREAMING IN FULL AT AOL.

AND they WERE both supposed to be playing one of my SXSW parties...until this morning when we found out that Amy Winehouse cancelled our show, and another show that day, and two shows in the UK. More cancellations to come? I don't know, but her show at Bowery tomorrow night still seems to be on, as are the rest of her tour dates. Here's what's in the news:

The father of British pop star Amy Winehouse has pleaded with his daughter to take a break from her busy schedule - or end up facing rehab.

Dad Mitch believes the Rehab singer's hectic schedule is taking its toll - as well as her recent split from boyfriend Alex Jones-Donelly.

Twenty-three-year-old Winehouse cancelled two concerts in London last week despite being spotted buying alcohol at a local grocery store hours before a gig. [FemaleFirst]

Luckily the Fratellis are still playing the show though, as well as 12 other awesome acts. Amy's replacement to be announced.

The Fratellis are also playing two sold out shows at Mercury Lounge in NYC after SXSW, and now a third show at Studio B in Brooklyn on March 24th. Is it really sold out too though? Or is it not on sale yet like they did with LCD Soundsystem?

yeah, and Studio B is pretty big.

Tickets for The Frattelis show at Studio B went on sale Wednesday, March 7 at noon.

Studio B sent around an announcement with the on sale information.

I think Studio B only sells a certain amount of tix online and sells the rest of them at the door, the night of the show, forcing you stand outside for what will almost certainly be an hour.

The Studio B tickets were taken down as soon as they were put up because there was a disagreement with the promoter about the show in some way. That was the explanation they provided on the phone and said tickets would be released for sale as soon as the details of the show were worked out.

saw Amy Winehouse on Saturday walking through Soho on her phone, so she's IN New York at least whether she ends up cancelling or not.

Posted by Anonymous | March 12, 2007 2:09 PM

^^^she has to be in new york right now because she is the musical guest on the letterman show tonight.

Posted by Anonymous | March 12, 2007 2:38 PM

According to the Bowery Ballroom, the show is still on.

Q. Why does Amy Winehouse have a tattoo of a pocket on her boob?

A. It's where she keeps the tattoo of her keys.

uhmm , Fratellis are on Cherry Hill / Interscope. Universal, yes. Island (Def Jam), no.

the Fratelli's are lame live.

I'm scottish and should be supproting local bands, but they sucked. Saw them last year at the start of the tide of hype.

Don't go see them, enjoy the recordings.

Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2007 12:13 PM

just checked....no tickets. what about at the door? not happening?

Posted by moderngirl | March 13, 2007 1:20 PM

there's usually twenty five tickets available at the show for most sold out bowery ballroom shows. get there at least half an hour before the doors are scheduled to open, and you should be fine.

yea ive been able to get tickets to a bowery show by showing up at the door before it starts. also, the scalpers got their hands all over these tickets and im sure there will be some leftovers since they are asking crazy prices...tickets they didnt sell will probably be going for face or slightly above faae value outside the venue

That girl needs to get her act together! My boyfriend turned me on to her (Amy) and I have been looking forward to seeing her at SXSW..she better not cancel that show! Grrr...

I also highly recommend The Last Town Chorus) - the lead singer plays lap steel and she does it like nobody I've seen...I just bought their new album and it made me knock someone else out that time slot on Friday so I can go see them.

It's all about the ladies at SXSW this year, ha ha...
