Jamie T @ Fader Fort, Austin, TX (SXSW) - pics
I thought Jamie T was going to be sitting on a stool with a guitar, or sort of rapping, but actually he was energetic and playing with a full band. Not bad, though I only saw a few songs. One of them being "Stella" which I know the best.
I saw him at The Fader Fort at SXSW on March 16, 2007. That's where these pictures are from. Last night (March 21) he played Mercury Lounge in NYC. What was that like?

Last night at the Mercury Jamie T DID play on a stool with an acoustic bass guitar and he was ever so charming. He only played a mere 25 minutes, but the room was singing along and his imminent stardom was ever apparent. Highlights: Brand New Bass Guitar, Back in the Game, Salvador and of course, Sheila. Good bless the Engish... er... I mean the Brits.

Hey maureen
I read your blog post on the mercury show. How was this show "semi secret" if it was listed on the mercury lounge website for umm idk weeks?
That is some secret. Has anyone heard about the secret Fratellis shows tonite and tomorrow at Mercury Lounge?

Did anyone hear anything about the Police getting back together?
But seriously folks ... what was the logic behind Jamie T tickets only available at the door and not in advance on ticketweb? Anti-scalping? ... I dunno, every other show and its sister is on ticketweb?

The Panda Band was the best part of that show at Mercury Lounge. Those guys are great.

i thought jamie was great, tho disappointed only 7 songs. i suppose some are prob. difficult to play without the band, so im looking forward to a proper show.
i also saw get cape the night earlier (as well as opener fionn regan). both great. sam had his drummer and his computer to fill in the instrumentation.
overall it was a nice double header of acoustic brit music at mercury.
