Justin Timberlake (not credible?) - 2007 Tour Dates

Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson

Bob Lefsetz says Justin Timberlake is not credible:

Even Janet Jackson has more credibility. At least she didn’t lie and apologize for the Super Bowl boobie fracas. Sure, Justin never had much cred when he was a boy band star, but now he’s a guy who’s constantly playing the game. Sure, people might like his music, but they don’t believe in HIM!
He also says Scott Weiland, Madonna, Jay-Z, SNL, Yahoo, and headset mics are not credible.

Last time Justin was in NYC, he played "Dick in a Box". He's back at MSG on August 15th. All tour dates below...

Speaking of Scott Weiland:

Velvet Revolver frontman vandalises hotel
Scott Weiland's wife is arrested
27.Mar.07 12:27am (from nme.com)

Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland's wife was arrested after lighting his clothes on fire outside their home in Toluca Lake, California, police said today (March 26).

The incident occurred following a fight between the couple that took place at a luxury hotel in nearby Burbank, in which they vanadalised two rooms.

Mary Weiland was booked for investigation of felony arson vandalism after police responded to a call that a woman was burning clothes Saturday night (March 24), according to the Associated Press.

She was allegedly at the hotel with the couple's children when police arrived, and voluntary went to the police station to give a statement.

Scott Weiland later appeared at the station with his attorney to do the same.

No charges have been filed against the singer.

I read Bob Lefsetz's posting and Bob Lefsetz appears to be a fucking idiot.

Bob Lefsetz also claims that Patti Smith has no talent and no one outside of New York cares about her, and that she doesn't belong in the R&RHOF.

Bob's posting about cred is fucking laughable, but what the hell is this?

that article is hilarious.

NOT CREDIBLE: Hipper-than-thou criticism and absurd declarations of over- or under-ratedness.

c'mon, i feel like i'm reading Spin Magazine circa 2005 all over again. ugh.

Bobby L. has no credibility--he ragged on Arcade Fire because the New York Times wrote about them. He said AF should have refused to participate in the piece because they're hurting their long-term career by appearing in a publication that couldn't help their sales. Great thinking there, Bobby.

I do have to say the way he sidestepped the controversy was kind of interesting. Then again, he probably has a much better PR machine behind him...

Who is this dude and why does he not think that these people and things are "credible"???? What does that even mean?!??

I'm so confused.

I went down to see JT last night in Philly. The dude is totally legit. He played at least 5 different instruments (and well), has amazing vocal chops and is an all out entertainer. It was fun to see a big arena show again (it's been a looooong time).

He can also dance and not make it look girlie.

I love indie as much as we all do, but that doesn't mean we have to ignore other people with talent.

wellllll:

From NME (http://www.nme.com/news/justin-timberlake/27233):

Producer Timbaland has said that Justin Timberlake's next album will sound like The Rapture.

The two worked together on Timberlake's 2006's 'FutureSex/LoveSounds' album, and Timbaland mentioned that, after initial conversations, they want the new material to sound like 'House Of Jealous Lovers', The Rapture's iconic single from 2002, reports the US edition of GQ.

The singer also comes onstage to the track during his current tour.

Timberlake has also teamed up with Timbaland on the producer's new album 'Shock Value', which is set to be released on March 26.

The album also feature contributions from Fall Out Boy, The Hives, MIA and Nelly Furtado.

The producer also hit the road with the singer for US dates, performing a mini-set during Timberlake's performance. He was also join his pal on UK dates in the spring.

justin has a nice ass.

Posted by cranky | March 28, 2007 11:14 AM

that article is a joke, right?

...right?

...come on. the fact that i have never heard of this person makes him, in my world, NOT CREDIBLE.

and i wouldn't say heroin is credible either. mainly because it's a drug. and i don't see drugs as posessing the ability to be credible in the first place.

..AND ONE MORE THING!: remeber "tiny music...songs from the vatican gift shop"? what an underrated album! they really came into their own on that one...

on second thought, heroin is definately not credible. i don't believe a single thing that comes out of that motherfucker's mouth.

Posted by christian | March 28, 2007 11:27 AM

Maybe Timbaland was referring to the *other* rapture
