Largehearted Boy's Interesting CD Releases This Week
US releases from three hyped UK acts head this week's list of CD releases. The Kaiser Chiefs' Yours Truly, Angry Mob, Klaxons' Myths Of The Near Future, and Mika's Life In Cartoon Motion have all generated a decent amount of hype, and are available tomorrow in the US.
What new releases are you picking up this week? What should I avoid?
Other strong recommendations include Kate Havnevik's Melankton, The Fall's Reformation Post T.L.C., Merzbow's Merzbear, the Ponys' Turn the Lights Out, Small Sails' Similar Anniversaries, Grant-Lee Phillips' Strangelet, and Walker Kong's That's What I Call People.

Klaxons - definitely go cop Klaxons LP.
And stay far, far away from the new Kaiser's LP. It's godawful.

def picking up grant lee phillips. heard one song and liked a lot but how can you deny a guy who wrote one of the most classic albums (MIGHTY JOE MOON) of the '90s?

Great Lake Swimmers (Tony Dekker) has a new record, Ongiara, which is out in Canada tomorrow. I heard a track on CBC Radio 3 podcast and it sounds good.

Ongiara is great as well. Their website says it will get US release in May. Not sure if Misra is putting it out again here or if Nettwerk in the US will wind up putting it out. Worth buying early from Canada though.

the klaxons album is great. though i've no idea why they're calling it neu-rave or whatever.
